Great Britain has 23 medals so far - 7 Gold, 8 Silver and 8 Bronze. Pretty good for such a small nation, I enjoy the olympics as they show the less well known sports to everyone, and make a change every 4 years. Some of the "larger" sports are pointless, such as football (soccer) as the main teams don't care as they want the world cup instead of the olympics so smaller teams that aren't so good get the medals.
Hinen did great for Belgium, especially coming back from that injury. I remember watching her when she got the the wimbledon finals before she was big, and she was amazing.

OH MAN! I saw this clip from the olympic in 84 or something... and they showed this wrestler, I think he was German. Anyway, he was in the lead and was about to win the gold medal... but then the opponent got this awful grip on him! He was lying on his back with this guy on top of him...
and we all know that the opponent get points if the guy has his shoulders on the ground for to long...
But this guy was really hot for the gold!!! He went up into "brygga", (you know where you have your hands and feet on the ground and your belly pointing upwards)
Anyway, he was standing like that for 1 minute! I mean I can't do that for one and a half minute, but this guy hade his opponent on top of him pressing him down with his whole body weight as well! I was very impressed if you haven't notised. That was... AWESOME! It really was! He couldn't stand up when they blowed the whistle. But he won!
OH man! That was so cool!

The first number is the amount of medals the country has. The second is how many gold, the third how many silver, and the fourth how many bronze.

I wonder which country would be in the lead if they counted medals per habitant... I mean china has like 50-60 but they have a population of 1.3Billion people...

I'd hate to lose gymnastics just because the scoring is subjective. Besides, they have pretty good guidelines in place. Certain point deductions for certain mistakes, etc. Plus, they always throw out the highest and lowest scores, to prevent bias.

Turin, Italy will be the site of the XX Olympic Winter Games in 2006.
Beijing, China will be the site of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in 2008.
Vancouver, Canada will be the site of the XXI Olympic Winter Games in 2010.
All these sites have already been chosen by the respective Olympic Commissions. Just taking the guesswork out of it for you guys.

Yay NZ has 5 medals. That's so good. Even though the states have like 89, NZ's team is about 1/8, if that, the size of the US team.

Well, they ended yesterday. I felt so sorry for the brazilian would was pushed off the track by that nutter Irishman. He managed to get bronze anyway, but he could have got gold. Britian managed to get 30 medals in the end.
