I am quite the fan of Rugby League here in England. Rugby Union is good too although I prefer Rugby League.
I have watched American Football at times. This isn't a criticism but I think it's more about showmanship and entertainment. The rules slightly differ to Rugby League/Rugby Union and can be daunting to anyone who lives outside the U.S.
However, I would happily watch American Football if it was on.

ill have to go with rugby on this one. Maybe its just me but football has gotten too flashy and it seems that the players mostly play for the money. rugby is alot more "down to earth."

In my opinion America football is just a bunch of jocks looking for a reason to try and kill each other, and involve little or no skill. But that's my opinion.
Rugby, even though I think it's a barbaric sport, still involves a lot of skill and is better than Football.
However I prefer Football (soccor) over all other sports, apart from netball

I LOVE rugby! I am actually quite good at running downfield, and dodging people. I do love a good game of rugby. If I was to play a sport, it would be either tennis or rugby.

Its a sport similar to american football, but you can only pass backwards, and its way more violent. Oh yeah, and the scrum thing.

Little or no skill? I know this is just your opinion, but seriously, I'm a girl, and I play football with the boys, believe me, it involves skill.

We have to play rugby in school here as much as we have to play soccer, which is what you'd expect to find most of, and I hate it, I'm really not built for rugby, I'll go with American football because... YAY PATRIOTS!

Dude, rugby is 10 times more violent. You get hurt constantly! Always checking people and getting in really nasty tackles. And you have slim to none for pads.
Man, this topic makes me really want to play rugby. Im gonna look to see if my college has a team when I get down there.

I think more people get injured because we aren't wimps and wear pads like the Americans, Amerian football is more try and take the person out of the game any way you can, but in rugby you have to tackle them below the waist which is more skill. I like them both.

OMG!!!! We played tackle football in school, with no pads (so, it was basically rugby ) and some how, I was always the one getting tackled, whether I had the ball or not.

Jeez, you play Hooker and you think it's less violent? Loads of punching going on in them scrums. Although I've never played American Football, it seems more organised. In rugby there are fights /stamping/sly punching all the time.
