HAHA. I remember in Voy's first few episodes, Tom said the same thing to Janeway. Janeway responded by saying Tom didn't understand the finer points of temporal mechanics because sometimes cause can precede effect. LOL.
In other words, don't think too much into it... heh

Um, according to quantum-physics some times cause CAN be preceded by effect, in fact it happens all the time, you wouldn�t even be able to use a supermarket checkout scanner if it wasn�t possible.
