Tomorrow afternoon we're going camping in Rocky Mountain National Park and will hike while we're there.
I was wondering what your thoughts about camping?
I like camping a lot.

Nooooooo, I hate camping. Outdoors is kinda gross during the summer. When they come up with some way to camp during winter, then sure, I wouldn't mind, as long as I had a shower and 5 star restaurant nearby.

I love camping!!! THe best camping trip I ever went on was a smallish group of my theatre friends. We stayed at a friends site, in the middle of nowhere. There was a clearing for tents and campfire as well as a camp shower. That was all. We peed in the forrest, and cooked all our own food. We also left all of our watches, phones and such in the car, so that we had little connection to the outside world. When we were hungry, we ate. When we where tired, we slept, we just made our own schedule. It was fantasic and one of the most relaxing weekends I've ever had.

I love camping, and three weeks ago my family excluding my mother, and two other people went on a canoe trip, we canoed 66 miles in 5 days, not counting portages (Crossing land). We had places to camp that had a place to put our tents sometimes, it was really pushing it once, and a couple weren't designated camp sites, and really, there are no designated camping sites where we were at, just places people found to clear out enough to enjoy it. We had to use the outdoors as our lavatory, #1 & '#2', We basically had tons of fun canoeing, and it was intense, sometimes stressful in acheiving the goal of that day, but all in all we had relaxing afternoons, except one. It was awesome and I loved it, it is real camping out there, you're not connected to any technology, there isn't a bit of electronics except for the phones we just brought with us just in case, and even then we didn't have a signal cause it's wilderness for probably 100 miles around or more. So, I'd say that's the best camping trip I've had so far. I'm hoping to top it whenever I go to Philmont. I'm in the Boy Scouts by the way, but this time it really wasn't considered a boy scout activity for our troop.
I hope everyone someday can appreciate camping, sadly it's probably not going to happen. Nature is awesome, it's the planet's raw form, undiluted. Cherish it while we still have it all. Don't take our lovely planet for granted. Enjoy every bit of it and know the power behind it, nothing is better than hearing just the wind rustling, the birds singing, and nature living.

I love to go camping, I havn't done anycamping for a while though. My last time was a full week for summer camp with my Boy Scout Troop (I am Eagle After All). Camping wiht your family is a lot more fun than with a scout troop, that way you don't have to lead something.

I totally love camping. I usually go with some buddies up to Woodland Park, a bit inside the front range of the Rockies. It's so fun. and there's nothing like building a successful fire... lol. I've gone camping all over... with canoe and rafting trips on the Arkansas and St. Croix, a few a lot deeper in the Rockies, virginia, new york, kansas... that one was fun there was a tornado warning that night. Fun stuff. I dig "roughing it"

^ Me either. It doesn't seem like much fun. "Roughing it", for me, is staying in a hotel, Much prefer being at home.

ya, thats alright, i guess....but im one of those gamers that goes for guts and glory, just dive into the action.
On topic:
the worst camping experience that ive had was when i was ten. I went "rafting" (inner tubes) down the sacco river, Maine, and we all nearly died. The river was extremely slow and empty that day. Hours went by and we were not making any progress at reaching our car at the end of the river.
*started getting dark*
we had been swimming for a couple of hours pushing the tubes and inflatable rafts to get more progress at reaching the car by nightfall.
*Nightime*
we made a couple of wrong terms, We're literly being eaten alive by mosquitoes, starting to get hypothermia, we're really hungry, and were really scaird. We decided to abandon our "rafts" and run for help, barefoot. we saw a cabin in the distance and started to run towards it. As we were getting closer we saw a sign that said "NO TRESPASSING, TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT" ignoring the sign we reached this creepy cabin with this creepy old guy, who was no help at all.
*a couple of hours of running later*
we reached a road, followed it into an intersection, luckily chose the path that lead to our car and drove to our cabin.
*later that night back at our cabin*
we had a contest of who had the most mosquitoe bites....i won with over 150 bites.
P.S. i havnt been back to that river since.

I don't mind camping, so long as either it's completely cut off from the modern world or I have little luxuries such as a flushing toilet
I don't want to take Sammie camping for a little bit though.

Camping is fun and I love to do it, but sometimes it gets a little annoying. You can come back looking like a swollen tomato from all the mosquito bites if you are not careful.

I like camping, although I haven't done it in a while. I hate the midges though (basically small mosquitoes). They are really bad here in the summer near water.

I love camping. I lived many days out in the woods. It's peaceful being away from everyone and everything, with only the sounds of the Wind and the water, along with an occasional animal to be heard.
Off topic.
I can't stand it when I'm in a game like Counter Strike or Unreal and all people do is camp. I mean I'm great with a sniper rifle, but I do what I call a "shot on the run" Looking through the scope while running and popping people as they come
