PostWed Aug 11, 2004 11:14 pm    The STV Show!

((approved by Theresa))

Hey and welcome to the all new STV Show with me, your host, Sam Dannon. That's right, a whole new approach on getting to know you, a little more interactive than This Is Me and with all the great nuances of Fun and Games, right here in Chit Chat.

So what do we do? Just a little mix of the late night talk shows with a pinch of Inside the Actors Studio. I'll be here interviewing, one STV member over the course of a few days, and then on to the next. We'll have fun with questions you'd probably never get in This is Me.

Want to let the board know who you are? PM me and I'll hook you up with an interview. Want to get to know someone on the board a little better? PM me and nomintate them for an interview.

And of course, no great "late night" talk show could go without fun stuff like top ten and a mail bag. Send me your favorite top ten lists, get a few comments on mail in mail bag... I promise you my humor is worthy.

Questions? PM me or post here before the show starts.

The STV Show pilot airs whenever I get that first interview request

Talk to you then, All.

Sam

ok... the audience is getting restless... so I'll come out an d start it off here...

We're going to have a great show today folks, we've got some STV members already signed up for interviews, so... sit tight and... enjoy the band or something....

I really wish you could all hear my voice, because then you could hear my tone... tone is important, if you know communications stuff, TONE IS IMPORTANT, so I'm going to have to ask you all to direct the majority of your chi while reading this to getting my tone out of these letters. It's hard yes, I'll try and help you out. Use your third eye or something to look through the words at the smile in my voice and the twinkle in my eye...

Being that this is a late-night-talk-show based topic, keep in mind that I will probably never be really serious. This is a place to joke and laugh. If you want to talk to me seriously, go join the Skyline, it's a great RPG, we've got lots of drama going on there. But here, if I ever say something that sounds judging, you can call me on it if you want, but there's a 99.9% chance I'm kidding around...

Second off, sarcasm is my trademark. I hope you all know it well or a lot of the stuff I say won't float well with you. maybe later on when I feel more creative, I'll make a "sign" to let you know when sarcasm is oozing out of every word, but let's try that concentrating the chi thing first.

Po-li-tics? You can talk to me about politics alll you want. Yes. And I'll "sit" there with a big smile on my face and nod my head, but chances are, I'll have no idea what' you're talking about... which, since I'm voting in three months probably is not a good thing. If it really comes down to it, maybe I'll study a little more... if I feel like it.

And I know all you audience members would like to participate. Who doesn't. During the interview, I'll welcome things like "boo" and "yay" and maybe "lol". No, this is not a melodrama, but if you want to make it one... uh... sure. Maybe every now and then someone in the audience may mumble something "to themselvs" that the host may or may not hear. I don't want any of this discussion stuff going during an interview though. No talking while teacher's talking.

uh... er... I think that about covers that.... don't forget to send in top ten lists or stuff to the mail bag. we've got to have some pre show gig going on..... So talk away, you gabby audience until the first of our guests arrives and enjoy the show

Sam

Great to have you. And don't bother with formalities... The name's Sam. You can call me Sam.

Ok, so let's get to some questions... no doubt that's the reason everyone is here. I think I'll just start out with the most obvious ones first so we can scrape the surface. Your username... Chakotay99. I read in This is Me that you like Chakotay, which... I'll have to ask about later... but... is there any special meaning or story behind that name?

Well I first joined up at STV.com as "Commander John" because John is my real name. When I joined STV I didn't know what I was getting into. I had the User name Commander John for around 3 days until I PMed Morphy to change it. I first wanted "chakotay" but the username was already taken so I picked the very first thing that popped into my head: Chakotay99. I have the C capitalized for the first 5 or 6 months until I changed it to lower case. I have thought about changing my username again to something like "The Hybrid One" or Linkin Park Fan, but Morphy wouldn't change it without a reason, so I am sticking with c99 for now.

Well I used to be a major Voyager fan, which now I am really into DS9 after watching the episodes which SpikeTV is now showing in my Area (Dallas Texas). Chakotay was the one character on Voyager that kept both the Maquis and StarFleet officers together. Without him on voyager I think there is a huge chance that they would never have worked together as one crew. There would have been a Mutiny without him. Robert Beltran is a very good actor also. He showed his Reglious background as a Native American, which was the only crew member to show there religion on voyager. My second favorite character off of Star Trek would be Worf, because they show a lot of detail into his background.

I have been looking for a job also but there has been no call backs, even from McDonalds. I am an average B student with a GPA of 89.5 and a class rank of 93 of 251 last year.

That's definatly good. School is important, I even find myself realizing that more and more. You're pushing for good grades and stuff, so would I be correct in assuming that you kind of have an idea of what you want to do when you're out of school completely?

I really don't know for sure. I have thought about creative writing (which I already have started a book called "Virus") but more than likely I will become a graphics designer and hope to help design video games.

I saw that you like bands lke Linkin Park and Nickleback. Why do you like that kind of music, what sort of influence does it have on your everyday life?

Music! I can't live without it. Linkin Park is my favorite band of all times, I have there "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteroa" CDs and a few songs off of there Ranimation CD. I have only A few songs from Nickelback but they are great. I have around 400 songs on my computer right now. I have a playlist but I can't post it here, It's a little to long for a post. I mainly like Hard Rock, Rock and Punk music. Pop and country really don't float my boat.

I used to play Trumpet for the school band, I quit after my freshman year. I started to play trumpet in the 6th grade but I really wasn't any good. I was 1st chair only three times in the bottom band of my middle school (7th grade). My 8th year I made top band, last chair just about all year. Second semster of my 8th year i moved and was placed as 2nd chair in bottom band in Houston. 9th i made last chair bottum band for the entire year. I hate to march so i just gave up last year. I am more into Theatre right now. I have a class thi year that i learn to run all of the stuff behind the camera (i think)

Theater is great, just as long as you keep up something in the arts. Though... I do look down on people quitting band... lol. not really. trumpets especially. It's good that you could make a decision like that and be happy with it. Well, thanks for joining us. Unless there's anythign else you'd like people to know about, looks like we're done for this episode.
