I'm sure Sisko didn't die. It may seem that way but I don't think so.
He's probably in this other dimension or something, with the prophets. Who know's when or how Sisko will return. It can be in the past or the future. This does open a lot of possibilities for the Star Trek writers...

There are 2 views.
One, Sisko didnt die, and was saved by the prophets, to be able to live out his corporeal life later on.
Two, Sisko died, then his soul was saved by the prophets, to go work with them.
I vote ONE.

The first second I saw him teleported into their dimension, I thought he died. But when Kasidy went to him and they talked I thought that he didn't die and someday, he'll return.

Thats my thinking. He will be returning to his corporeal state, so he's still alive. And his body is cruising somewhere. LOL.

Yeah, imagine this:
*Jake, watching the wormhole from the Promenade, when suddenly Sisko sticks onto the glass*
Jake: Dad, you're back!
No, just kidding

I too think that Sisko was saved at the last minute. He promised Kassdy he would return. That implies he will come back as corporeal. BUT as far as I can remember, they weren't clear on that. Maybe he'll return but not in the way we think he will......

So you see the possibility for dispute!
Apparently Star Trek The Magazine was quoted as saying that Sisko died. But I still dont believe it.

Definitly. I think it was answered in a book as to what happened to him. Although I heard people say they don't see books as cannon. Anywho....
Im not ruling out the possibility he died. The theory about him dieing and the Prophets taking hold of his soul somewhat fits the religious theme of Deep Space 9. Are the Prophets Gods or just wormhole aliens? It is an interesting debate on the show. We all know he was taken by the Prophets and such but the real mystery is what he means by he "will return". I hope the Prohets let him live out his life in peace with Kassidy. I have 2 questions.
1. Wasn't she pregant as well?
2. Was taking Sisko at the end of that episode the punishment the Prophets meant in the episode where DS9 was retaken from the Dominion? They said a "penance must be exacted." Was this it?

Sisko didn't die. His destiny was to join the Prophets, and he did that. He can return to corporeal life when he chooses to.

Cause he said so. He told Kassidy that he would come back to her and the baby after he was done learning from the Prophets what he needed to know. Remember... he is no longer linear. He could come back at any time he chooses...

Thats true. Do you think he will come back to the moment he dissapeared or a few years down the line?

That is a darn good question... I'm not sure. I have thought about that... if I were him, I would come back shortly after I left... but who knows what he sees? Not being linear, and all, maybe life is better for Kassidy without him... (though I seriously doubt it.)

I'd come back shortly after I left too Angeldust.
Does anyone knows the answer to my 2 questions?

Kassidy was indeed pregnant.
The Prophets told Sisko before he married Kassidy that the marriage would bring great sorrow... they did not specify whose sorrow... it turned out to be the sorrow of her and his son and future child...
I do not believe that taking Sisko was punishment. The "penance to be exacted" was against the Pah-wraiths and Kai Winn.
When the Prophets told Sisko that he was of Bajor, they were implying that he was one of them...in their weird, cryptic way they were telling him that he would become one of them, because he was already...
Am I making any sense?

You made alot of sense, thank you for the info. I agree with tons of your points.
Although I dont think the penance was againstthe Pah-Wraiths or Kai Winn. Sisko asked them to help with the Dominion fleet and they said they would but a penance must be exacted. Which sounds to me like they are saying "we want something in return".

But I still think Sisko didn't die. They just took him away for a while, like a penalty

For a non-linear amount of time.
