How can anyone not like it? It was perfection. None of the other shows had what made DS9 great. Charecter development, amazing ships, war, religion, coolest aliens, and an actual constant plot. VOY had that as well but tend to stray from it countless times. It was a great show. Im just sorry it ended.

Yes. Nicely said, Founder. It has all of the things he explained it has. It's written perfectly. And every episode, except those crappy Ferengi episodes, stands out in it's very own way. In exceptional space fights, or it is very emotional or outstanding character development...It' almost flawless.

I agree completely. Except for the Ferengi part. The Ferengi were one of the coolest looking aliens in ST, IMHO. You didn't like them gul?

Yeah, I liked Quark and his witty commentaries . Sometimes he made me laugh my guts out! And I liked Rom and especially Nog with his character development. They were all outstanding. I meant with the "crappy Ferengi episodes" that episodes, that didn't have ANY connection with the storyline, jsut profit, profit and profit. Remember that episode, where Quark became female? ... But there were only like three of those episode, so It's not so bad

DS9 explored alot. They explored the whole damn Gamma Quadrant. They explored the Bajoran Culture. They did tons.

Yeah, and if it weren't for them, the Dominion war would probably still be ravaging around.

I used to watch DS9 all the time, it was the first trek series I saw, and I loved it! Now they show it at crazy hours . I don't remember much, cos I was about 9 and since then I've watched a ton of TV, but there was the pretty lady with long hair and spots (Dax) and that cool guy who could change shape and in one episode he trained a mini version of himself and it could turn into a cube, it was so cool.
I grew my hair to look like Dax, but when I was little it had hair like T'pol and everyone thought I was a boy. Now i have hair like Kochanski from Red dwarf!!! weird.
DS9 is great because it's more about community and emotions than about disasters and exploration, which made it good for me to watch cos I have emotional disorders (according to my counceller, anyway)

Anyone who can afford DVD boxsets is super rich! They are soooo expensieve. though I suppose it would be worth it if you want all the extras and DS9 interviews

Well, I think you don't have to be super rich. 100$ isn't super expensive

They're more expensieve here in the Uk. They're about 69.99 to 74.99 which when you convert into dollars is about $136.50.
At the local comic book store, videos are only 1 each for 3 episodes!

I got them i was VERY disapointed with "The Search pt 1 & 2" though, and i spent the entire episode critisising jadzia's hair
But whats wierd is, in season 3 they only mention up to deck 4 on the defiant but in season 4 they mention that the defiant has a deck 5 on many ocasions!
And on the ship scimatics in the show it only shows 4 decks.
