Fri Jul 30, 2004 8:42 pm enable Direct3D acceleration |

OS: Windows 2000 5.0 (Build: 2195)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 599 MHz with 223MB RAM
Video: No Video
Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling Direct3D Acceleration in the Display1/2 tab after installing DirectX 8.1b (or later) and the latest drivers for your graphics card. |
Does anyone know how to do this with Windows 2000?

OK, the problem is one of the following:
1. Your video card is disabled in your hardware configuration.
2. Your video drivers are not installed.
3. You are using on-board video, and have not installed the drivers from your motherboard disc.
4. Your AGP drivers are not installed.
Let me know if you can rule out any of those, and from whats left, I can tell you how you can tell whether or not its your problem.

yeah, sounds like the card is disabled... or there isnt one, and what you've got onboard is dependant on shared RAM, from my experience, and most arent capeable or Direct3d accel.

Its damn easy. You find the AGP slot (one that looks different from all the others, close to your processor) and press it down. Make sure you are grounded, by having your other hand on something metal. Oh yah, unplug it. Windows will do everything on its on. All you have to do then is pop the CD in, and run the installation. Then, you can play your game!
If you are unsure/uneasy about ANYTHING in the above, dont bother! Its pretty expensive if you make a mistake!
