Yeah, that's funny. Regular characters cn never have relationships with side characters for a longer period than one episode

Trouble is Geordi's idea of a good night out is to go and realign the dilithium crystals in the intermix chamber and refill the deuterium tanks.

That's a good one but I'm sure that Geordi wouldn't mind going to his quarters and seeing his partner after a long days work...

How do we know he never had a relationship?

The reason you do not see him in one or talking about one is that besides the Captain and maybe the Doctor the Chief Engineer is about the most important position on a ship and he has his time full already.

I think he mentions some flings throughout the series and he did have the relationship with Aquiel so he had love interests.

I remember only seeing one love interest for Scotty in the original (if you forget that nonsense between him and Uhura) and O'Brien was married in DS9 and it wasn't until about the 6th season that B'Elanna and Tom got together.

Chief Engineers just have to much going on with their lives to worry about relationships.

Hey I'm a civil engineer in real life and have a steady relationship (also in real life).

I'm sure people in the 24th century can manage as well.

that hit the nail on its head.

as someone alluded to, Auiel was quite a number on La Forge. I am not too concerned with the dating/affairs/relationships of the crew, rather the rapport between them.

Besides, with Picard exerting his superior intellect on its crew, it's good to see a beautiful woman every now and then put him in quiet mode.

Riker, on the other hand, is one player i'd love to have erased off the scripts. Other than womanizing, his greatest feat yet is screaming "Shields UP!!! RED ALERT!!!"

I'm surprised no one mentioned Christy Henshaw. She appeared in "Booby Trap" and "Transfigurations." In the former episode, she and Geordi went on a date, but she turned him down. In the latter episode, they appeared to be in the process of starting a relationship (Riker walked in on them kissing in the turbolift) but since Christy never appeared again, it's not clear how far things went.

I think one of Geordi's qualities was that he just wasn't lucky in love. It worked well for him too.
