Good for you Mark! Making some money is always a good idea I guess. But aren't you in college as well? D'you still have time to work?

Anyway, make sure you clean your hands before you step into the kitchen!

getting a job is cool, of course its the first pay check that is disapointing, that is of course unless you have never worked under the table before.

I was makin atleast 300 bucks a week under the table, and I finally got a "real" job and now I make no way near that lol

Youre 15! You only seriously get considered for work when you turn 16.

Thanks everyone. I should be getting like $7/hour, and hopefully I can work like 40 hours a week. That would rule.

I'm wanting a job! I need some money. At the moment all I have is paper rounds. The problem is I don't have much spare time so the people will try and get someone who works more hours than me. Well done on the job though Mark.

Congrats Mark

I'm currently thinking about getting a job, to get out of the house.

Problems are:
-Sammie. I'm still feeding her myself, so I'd have to get used to several hours without her.

-Money. I currently get government money to get an education. Due to the screwed up system, that means I can't work without losing money, nor can Johny.

-Benefits. If I work, then we may lose more benefits than I get in a job. Given that I'd then have to pay my own rent and council tax (the government currently pays for me), I may actually be worse off than I am now.

-My Health. I'm suffering from Post Natal Depression, and that makes me physically ill. What happens if I can't get to work for one reason or another?

Plus points are:
-Money. I may actually get more than I am now

-Freedom. I'll hopefully feel more in control of my life.

-My Health. It may actually improve if I have something else to concentrate on.

I might go down to the Job Centre to find out whether I'll be financially better off if I work, and work out the rest of it myself, with help from my GP.

(For those who are interested, I get 132.70 Income Support for Myself, Johny and Samantha, and 16.50 Child Benefit for Sammie. That means each week I get 149.20 to live off. Out of that I have to pay 5 in water rates, pay all my bills, travel costs, buy food, nappies, clothes, shoes and other essentials. We manage ok because we don't smoke, and because we buy our clothes and shoes from discount stores we can afford luxuries such as the internet and sky television.)

w000000000000000000000000000000000t First day working today! I worked from 6 - 10. First, I was grill bitch. I ran a grill, and made hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and double cheeseburgers. Just the little ones. Pretty easy stuff. Then when my grill got shut down (there are 3 grills), I took out the trash, wrapped sandwiches, made onion rings, stocked ingrediants, cleaned my grill, etc. It was awesome. I worked for 4 hours and 10 minutes. Which kicks ass. And I get to work tomorrow, and lots more too!
