I voted for the TNG hair but in the later seasons.
Deanna's hair style changed over the years on TNG. I remember her hair during the first season. She kept her hair in a bun. That'� wasn't so cool if you ask me.
As the years progressed on TNG, I thought she kept looking better and better. Even her suits got better.

Yes it was a wig, I'm positive. I remember her saying that it weighed a lot and at times it gave her head aches. I'm not sure about her movie hair styles though.

Yeah. Her TNG hair is a wig. I remember her saying it was a really heavy wig too

I don't know. Maybe she had really horrible hair When they started the series. and so they put a wig on her.

I voted Insurrection because I think it looked more natural when it was wavy than when it was straight or very curly.
Gates McFadden wore wigs until season 6 or 7 - she said she thought it could be a little character trait, that she'd have all these wigs in her quarters and she'd try them all to "see which one Captain Picard liked best".
