Do you think that they should cancel Star Trek? I think it should because I think it started to go downhill after TNG. Trek is also failing popularity wise aswell, during the time of TOS and TNG, I think Trek was quite popular however nowdays it is just a cult hit really.

Trek went downhill after Voyager.
Besides if you kill it sci-fi itself could go with it....

Yeah I totally agree, Sci-Fi wouldn't be Sci-Fi without Trek.

You should know well that almost all of the shows or movies about space sci-fi like Star Wars got it's ideas from Star Trek. So don't be saying they should kill the show.

Well, eventually Star Trek will end. Just like all things come to an end. But it will be a long long time from now.
Star Trek has been around for more than three decades and it's still going strong so I'm sure it'll last until we all are well in our fifties...

Even if it does end sometime in the near future it would most likely be revived later on. Some movies/series that we watch are revived shows watched by our parents and grandparents when they were a bit younger, so ... I really hope my predictions are correct because I don't want it to end either. I think that there will always be Trekkies trying to keep it alive ... like me ... .

Star Trek is more popular than Star Wars in my opinion. Star Wars always put me to sleep.

The fanbase of Star Trek won't let Star Trek end. Look what they did for Enterprise. Without the fans, Enterprise wouldn't be coming back for a fourth season. It's because of the fans and the webites created to help support grow for the return of Enterprise for the fourth season, and it worked. It just sucks Ent's been moved to Fridays at 9 now instead of wed at 8

Yeah, Enterprise really picked up in season 3. Every series takes a while for the characters to develop. Even The Next Generation wasn't very good until season 3. Voyager wasn't great until season 2....DS9 was my least favorite, but they still had some really good moments. I think Enterprise is starting to get really good...I hope they do better in the future!

When it does end, it should go out with a bang.
How about Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway and Archer all ending up in a future time period to battle a devestating being who has destroyed the Q Continuum and wishes to destroy the entire universe!!!
Nah, that's a bad idea. But my point is, when Trek does end (as it will one day), let's hope it goes out in style!

Well, it wasn't meant to be taken seriously.
Having the five Captain's together would require the biggest suspension of disbelief in history!
What would your idea be?

i think they never should have made enterprise. all the rest were really good, but enterprise is just a piece of crap. i grew up watching all the others (reruns of TOS) and i loved them all, but enterprise...it just doesnt appeal to me. i don't think they should cancel trek all together, but after enterprise, i think they should take a long break. we've had back to back star treks since '88. we should just have a break. it'd be the best for star trek right now. with reruns of all the shows, thats a lot of star trek that we can show. so, no more star trek for a while.

Zippy, I think a lot of people would agree with you. Including myself.
Whilst it's fun to talk about future Trek shows, I have said in other topics that once ENT ends, there should be no new Trek shows for at least eight or nine years.
I remember anticipating the first Trek movie in '79 even though I was very young at the time. It seemed painful to have to wait for a new movie every couple of years. And when I heard there was going to be a new Trek show in '87, I was excited.
But since then, we have experienced Trek overload. Continually since 1987. After ENT ends, it needs to go away and let people get excited about it again, let people build up anticipation.
If it does go away when ENT ends, people can always read some of the fascinating novels to keep them occupied. There is a world of Trek adventures to be had on the written page.

I love trek way too much for it to end!!!
All things have an end but unless the world blows up I don't think it's going to end.... But then again someone might fly off the planet before it is and takes trek with them, then it will live on forever! Mwahahaha
If you are one of those people that want it to cancelled I suggest you go crawl in a hole! If it is cancelled I'll go find a hole. Stay there until they decide that it's human cruelty and make more trek.

I kinda disagree and agree. ENT is bad BUT is has the potential to be great. They just need to get the show on track. They seem to have trouble with that. I don't know about the break. Depends on how long your talking.
