PostMon Jul 19, 2004 8:19 pm    The reason for her maddness

This is the story of my Skyline character, Catie Effersfield. Its told, as though she was writing a diary so without further delay...........

*************************************************************

I hate this! They never let me play with the other kids. Its like they think I'll be infected by human nature if I play with a human. They always tell me to stay inside and practice with my telepathic powers, but I don't want to. I'm only eight years old, I want to have fun with the other kids on Mars. They always tell me, that one day I will be great, greater than any human will ever be, greater than any Starfleet officer will ever be, but how can I be greater than what I am going to be? I don't care what they say, I will be a Starfleet officer. For now, however, I stay inside in the dark and practice my telepathic powers. I reach out, and see through the eyes of the other kids, the ones who are outside playing, I play too. Some of them know I'm there, and others don't, but either way, I get to play with the other kids. My best friend is a Cardassian boy, he's nice, and my parents don't seem to mind me playing with him. He's kinda cute too. I wonder if he thinks I'm cute. I'm one of the only blonde girls on the planet, so I guess blondes really do have more fun. I'm also finding something else, deep within me, telekenetic powers, making my emotions dangerous. My mother has told me that I must do meditation every day to keep them in check, or they could seriously hurt me and the people around me. She suggested I make up words to help. So I decided to say "Aserath Metrion Sinthous". They're my kind of made up language, and I have lots of other words too, like "Lathodin housmet". They just sound calming to me. Maybe when I'm older I'll still say them. Maybe, just maybe........

That part up there when she was eight was just for you to understand this part here. Now she's sixteen, and this part has dialogue.........

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
".....But mom, why can't I go?!" I screamed in fury at my mother. She was getting on my nerves more and more every day now. I was so ready to run away to Earth, and if she kept this up, I was going to. My bags were packed and hidden under my bed. "I don't want to go through this again, Catherine, I don't want you hanging around with those humans!" She roared in anger. I could tell she was angry, she never ever used my real name, no one did. In fact, I think that only 3 people knew my real name, everyone else calles me Catie. "You do know I'm going anyways, right?" I asked calmly with an evil grin on my face. "NOT IF I CAN HELP IT!" My mother screamed. She was breaking quickly this time. I would have no trouble getting my way. "You have again forgotten one key factor. I can make you open the door for me." She looked at me and a quick flash of fear danced across her face. She sat down and sighed heavily. "Fine, you can go, just don't stay out too late." I grinned on the inside. "Whatever, I'm glad you see it my way." I quickly ran out of the room, and left for the party.
Once I was at the party, I quickly found LaKat, my Cardassian friend. "Whats poppin?" I asked with a grin. He turned around and looked at me in shock. "You actually wore your mother down?!" He asked. "Yes. It wasn't that hard, I just threatend to use my telepathy to make her, and she gave in." I said, then grined and gave him a little shove "Come on, lets find Damean and Eva." He sighed and looked at me. "One of these days you're going to regret this, Catie." Nonetheless, however, he ran off with me to go find our friends. You see, this was really my going away party. I'm headed on a transport to Earth tomorrow to join the Acadame. I've already been excepted.
After a few minuts of searching, we found Damean and Eva talking. "Catie, glad you could make it." Damean said and then unexpectedly hugged me. "What, you think I'd miss my own going away party?" I grinned and hugged back. "Hows it goin girl?" Eva said as she pushed me off of Damean. "Not bad at all. I just can't wait to get there." "Well, just make sure to keep your telekennettic powers under conotrol. They're dangerous, Catie, and I really don't want to see you get hurt." Eva said and she smiled at me. "I know, I know, just forget it, lets par-tay!" I shouted and we all ran off to join the party.
And the next installment........
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***********************~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After a good few hours of partying, Damean grabed me by the arm and pulled me across the court and under a tree. "Listen to me, Catie, I'm going to miss you so much, we all will. Please come back alive. We all need you, I need you." And then, he did the unexpected, he kissed me. A nice, long, soft kiss. I don't know which was more unexpected, the fact that he kissed me, or the fact that I kissed back. A few moments after the kiss was broken, I responded with tears in my eyes. "I'm not comming back." I ran back to the party, and found Eva. She immeadetly sensed that something happend because when I found her, she grabbed my arm and pulled me off to the side. "Oh my God, honey, what happend?" She said gently as she pushed my long hair away from my face. I couldn't bring myself to look at her as I said. "Dam just kissed me." In that instant she dropped the piece of my hair she was holding away from my face, and ran away crying herself.

In the morning I left a note to my parents saying, "I'm sorry, I really love you guys, really, believe me I do, but by the time you read this, I'll be on Earth at the Academy. I won't be comming back, ever, so just know that I really really love you, and I'll miss you so much." With tears in my eyes I ran out of the house and to the transport. I knew I was never going to see my family again, and I knew this was what I was always ment to do, but I never knew it would be so hard.

By the time I had gotten to Earth, I was sure my parents had read the letter a million times, not believing that I, their precious daughter, was gone forever.

okay, this is Caties first year at the academy. I'm way to lazy to go slow, so its gonna be two parts to each year. So here we go......

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had finally finished my homework when I fell into my bed. My roommate, Kathleen Colligbourne, ran in and gave me a PADD. "Its a letter for you from a Damean Fischer!" She said with a huge grin. Immeadiatly I snaped up and began to read it. "Dear Catie, I miss you so much, and so does Eva. Lakat hopes you're doing well, but he's still a little too bitter to send you a letter. I'll be on Earth next week, I know you have that week off, I checked with Kathleen. I have a surprise for you, so look forward to it. With all my love, Damean" After I read that I looked at Kathleen and threw my pillow at her. "You've been talking to Damean?!" She chuckled and therw the pillow back. "Yup, and I know what the surprise is."
The days passed slowly, and the homework piled up quickly. I got a lot of help from Kathleen, but I couldn't keep my mind on my work. I was so excited, I couldn't contain myself. I kept playing with my hair, slightly changing its color to reflect more red or brown. Finally I had settled on leaving it alone. "CATIE! SNAP OUT OF IT!" Kathleen yelled. I must have been day dreaming. "Oh, thanks, Kat, what would I do without you?" She chuckled, "Fail med." I laughed a little too. "I guess your right." I said frankly and contiued on my report on the effects of the vacuum of space on the human body.
This is the higlight of Caite's report
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Vacuum of space does not instantly kill. The victim strugles to breathe, and the coldness freezes the eyes. The preasure gradually increases, and the victims non vital organs burst, then slowly the other organs burst, in the order of, kidneys, liver, gull bladder, intestines, stomach, lungs, heart, brain. This is an extremely painful thing as the victim does not die until the hear bursts, and the vacuum prevents the trigger of a brain chemical that causes you to pass out once you reach a certain amount of pain. The victims blood then seeps out of all entry points to the body, including the pores on occasion.

3 Weeks later

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Catie, why won't you tell me what happened?" Kathleen asked concernedly. "Because, nothing happened, Kathleen. We chatted, something happened.......... and I don't want to talk about this," I said and then heaved a deep sigh. "Can I just go to bed, please?" "Fine." Kathleen said as I rolled over and tried to sleep, knowing that I was going to have the same nightmare again............
"Will you marry me?" Damean asked with a smile. "Oh, my God!" I screamed "Yes, of course!" As Damean went to slide the ring on my finger, the door was slammed down by a two Cardassians. Damean stood in front of me protectivly. I put all my concentration into it, and managed to slam the door on one of them. The other activated the transporter, and transported Damean into space, then pinned me to the window. "DAMEAN!" I screamed, and fought in anger and rage throwing all my weight against the Cardassian. "No no no, Sweetie, you can watch him die." He said laughing with malliace. I watched his eyes freeze over, I watched him try to breathe, and I watched all his blood seap out of his body into space. I tried my hardest not to think of my report, trying not to know what happened to him, even though I did. I knew how much pain he went through. In all my rage I moved the door again, and hit the other Cardassian.
I awoke with a start.
Very nice. Made my skin crawl a bit when they beamed Damean into space. Cruelty. I like
