(Miami, Florida) Rosie O'Donnell didn't beat around the Bush this week as Senate Republicans tried frantically to muster votes ahead of the Federal Marriage Amendment vote on Wednesday.
ODonnell arrived in Port Canaveral onboard the Norwegian Dawn as part of the seven day R Family Vacations tour. The tour was organised with her wife Kelli Carpenter to provide family-friendly vacations for gays and lesbians.
Twenty-two hundred people are also taking part in the cruise, which includes activities for kids and workshops on gay parenting for the adults.
O'Donnell took aim directly at the President.
"I think this cruise comes at the perfect time, when they're considering an amendment making it illegal for us to have families
Holding the hand of her son Blake, one of three adopted children she is raising with her wife, O'Donnell said she hopes the Senate sends Bush a message by rejecting the proposed amendment to the Constitution which would ban gay marriage.
"It will be the first time, except for prohibition, that bigotry has been added to the Constitution. That the prevention of rights and exclusion of rights takes paramount over some religious ideology. And, supposedly, that is what we are fighting in Iraq -- A religious extreme government that is not letting people live freely."
As passengers from the cruise came down the gangplank for a brief stop on the Space Coast, O'Donnell pointed out that the group is not wholly made up of gay families.
"This is a cruise where everyone is welcome. An integrated society is what America is all about. With liberty and justice for all, not just the white friends of George W. Bush."
YOU GO ROSIE!!!!!!!!

If I am reading this right, they want gay marriages be legal. I don't think it should be legal.

This is exactly what I've been trying to tell people. The Gay Marriage ban is just another way to segragate people.

I think it's horrible that 2 people can be condemned purely for loving each other. Forget about what gender , race or sexual preference the individual is. They love each other full stop

Let's also not condemn those who do not wish to allow gay marriage. If there opinion is well thought through, and they are reasonable, don't forget that they are also allowed to voice their opinion and should be able to be heard without being called homophobes.

Absolutely! Don't get me wrong! I don't think that anyone who disagrees with me is a bad person! Everyone is entitled to their opinion . And their opinion is no more right or wrong than mine. If everyone thought exactly the same we would be Borg!

You say that it is on love, yet what happens if a 12 year old girl and 18 year old guy love each other? Should they be allowed to marry. After all, it doesn't affect others and they love each other. Just because there is love it doesn't mean it's right.

when the girl is of the age of consent yes.... but then again it is the law that dteremines the age of consent and I did say that the law should be changed for same sex marriages.... so I retract my earlier statement and replace it with a resounding "EH?! I dunno!" ! It's easier that way heheh

Personally, I have decided that I really just don't care which way they go on this issue. And I beleive that probably 80% of the American public does not care either. That is not to say that they don't have an opinion on it, but I think your everyday person could care less what happens with this. Whatever the government decides to do is not gonna bother me either way. I personally would like to see Congress debate more pressing issues at this point in time.

The problem with issues like these is that it is based on political correctness at the time. This kind of dicussion would never have happened 50 years ago becuase it wasn't right. Who knows, in another 50 years it might be bad again. That's the problem with PC, it's based on the view at the time, and since that view changes constantly then there is "no" right and wrong.
