The story I heard from Theresa was that Terry asked for less time onscreen, not to leave. It was a reasonable request--DS9 was ending, and Becker was just beginning. The producers decided instead to fire her, and kill off Jadzia. Terry was shocked to learn their decision! Worst move the producers ever made, I think.

The story that I heard was that she wanted to leave, but then I've not really searched up behind the sceens to find out what actually happened.
I prefered Jadzia over Ezri, but again I haven't seen that many episodes with Ezri.

I know originally it was meant to be 6 seasons, but they decided to make it 7. Every other cast member agreed to a 7th season but she declined. Why? Im not sure.

I don't really think we can ever know the actual reason...well, we gather some things from interviews, but as to what exactly was going on in Terry's head, we really can never know.

I agree. I liked Ezri but Jadzia should have been there in the end. I heard they weren't even allowed to use a montage of memories involving her in the last episode because Terry wouldn't allow it.

Yeah, she didn't like when they used a memory of her in an episode with Ezri. I can't remember which one though.
