Tue Apr 06, 2004 10:24 pm How you feel if Picard died in the hands of the Cardassians? |
|
I wondered how the show would be like with Captain Edward Jellico became the permanent Captain of the Enterprise, if Picard died in the episode Chain of Command.
What do you guys think?

That would be terrible. I would have hated it!
Picard was the right type of captain for TNG. Any other captain wouldn't live up to Picard's standards.

I didnt like when picard was captured. I liked it when he got back. No one is better than Picard of the enterprise that is.

^Yeah. I think there would have been a big outcry if Picard had been replaced. He was a really good Captain and no one else could have replaved him properly.

The universe would be better off without him, IMO.

I would totally get mad at the writters of TNG! Then lower my head in shame because an amazing captain was brought down so easily by them.

I don't think there was ever an issue of him leaving the show was there? I think it was just part of the plot of the episode...

Jellico could not replace Jean-Luc Picard in anyway. The entire series would start to crumble and I seriously doubt that it would keep all the fan intrest that it still has today. When your asked, Enterprise or Next Generation, Most Trekkies (not Trekkers) say Next Generation. Why? Simple the show's cast fit together 100%

Picard is the best Trek captain. Replacing him would have been a mistake.
Jellico was cool though... it would have been neat to see an alternate timeline episode (sort of like "Yesterday's Enterprise") where he'd been given permanent command of the Enterprise after the Cardassians killed Picard.

Yep, sounds like a good plan
Maybe with a alternate timeline that would happen
