Anyone here like Dallas? I hear it's coming to DVD later on in the year. Yippee!!!
I'm a Brit and I hate homegrown soap operas. I have to be honest-you American's have made some brilliant soaps over the years.
I watched Dallas religously (ditto Knots Landing, Dynasty and Falcon Crest). Like any good show should, I anxiously awaited the next episode.
J.R. was the no. 1 bad guy on TV. I just loved to hate him. The stories were so well-written. The women were beautiful and the scenery wasn't bad either.
There were some bad moments in the show's run and some very, very implausible plots (you know what I'm talking about. ). But overall, it was a show I looked forward to and I felt quite sad when it ended in 1991.
I may purchase the DVD to relive old memories. Anyone else like the show?

I remember watching that when I was a kid. Didn't care much for the infamous "shower scene", but I did like Bobby, so....

And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with our scars

No, neither did I like that scene at all. Even by the standards of the show, that was just bizarre and a lazy ploy by the writers.
By the way, is there anyone on this site from Dallas?
