U are mistaken my friend. I think DS9 was the best. U gotta watch from season 3 up.
The first episode with the Jem Hedar, and the Defiant
Then the Romulan/Cardassian fleet got owned
Way of the warrior
then the alter universe with the Kick a$$ big as hell Neghvar
paradise lost, Defiant vs USS Lakota
Apocyolics rising, call to arms
Garak find bashir in Dominion prision, also finds out that the Bashir on DS9 was a founder
Cardassians/Dominion alliance
WAR
WAR
WAR
favor the bold, sacrifice of angels,
Chintoka...................Jadzia Dies
Chintoka still
Breen.......
Then the finale.

I guess u got some catch up to do. These arent even all the cool eps either!

DS9 was simply the best Trek show. I cant even comprehend why anoone would think any of the other shows are better. I'll give you equal but thats it. This show was so radically different that it made me love it. No more of going from planet to planet solving problems and warping away. This was darker as someone else said. Sometimes problems weren't solved and there was alot more shades of grey.

Were you talking this to me? In case you didn't know r0xx0rz means the same as rocks, so if I translate the word I've said in the post

I thinks this isn't even worth discussing, because we all know DS9 rocks.

When you said I had some catching up to do, Iwas a bit insulted because if I sum it all up, I've missed about 6 episodes altogether from DS9 and I also think it's the best Star Trek has to offer.

Yah, DS9 is absolutely beautiful. Although, I still consider Season 3 a little slow. I loved Seasons 6 and 7, and really liked seasons 4 and 5. Season 3 was ok. Seasons 1 and 2 are boring at times. At most times. Too much Bajoran culture stuff, etc.

I used to hate the show, but now that I have watched it more often and seen a lot of good eps (along with some pointless ones), I have to admit that it's growm on me and I definately like it.

What I have seen--and what quotes I've read--of DS9, I love. DS9 had a lot more politics than any other Trek, and I like that about the show. Also, DS9 has a lot of humor, and I think that's definitely a necessary part of a sci-fi show.

I've been renting DVDs of DS9, Voyager, and TNG. I started with season one and worked my way up. It had been a while since I've watched some of the earlier episodes, and these recent viewings have brought me back to Star Trek and each series. So far, I have to say that DS9 is a much more "enriched" series than Voyager and TNG -- at least up to my rental queue, season 3. By enriched, I mean character(s) development and complexity, compelling plots, intense scenes that demand the best from an actor. DS9's characters make the series, and if anyone watched only the first few seasons, they would know more about the entire cast than 7+ seasons of other ST series.

If you guys get a chance to watch DS9 from the beginning through DVD rentals. Pay attention to Quark and Garak. These two "non-main" characters separated DS9 from other ST series.

Its true. There is alot of character development, and development of the history of DS9 and the Bajorans, and alot of the bajoran religion. Its pretty cool. But only in the first and second season. In the third season they start to bring the Dominion in, and they start using the war as the main plotline. This is especially seen in seasons 5-7, when war breaks out.

I also like the character development of the side characters who aren't just characters "to be killed", but they actually do something important sometimes.

Exactly. The other series did this but on a smaller scale.

TOS-Nurse Chappelle, Harry Mudd
TNG-Barkly, Wesly, Guinan
VOY-Carey, anyone else?
DS9-Female founder, Weyoun, Dukat, Nagus, Leeta, Vedek Bareil, Brunt, Damar, Eddington, Vic Fontaine, Ishka, Martok, Morn, Nog, Keiko O'Brien, Molly and KiraYoshi, Ross, Ziyal, Kai Winn, Kasidy Yates, and Rom.

If were ony including good guys the list is still long. Quark and Garak are main charecters to me. This show never let any charecter go to waste. I love it.

There were a hell of alot more people in TNG and all the other serieses too, but I see your point, and agree with it.

You missed Jake Sisko!

The only thing that bothers me is that although Jake has one of the main roles, he doesn't get many plots. But apart from that I curse myself for missing any episode of it! It's just the best series I've ever watched I guess! And I like Dukat's development from a militia leader to degradation and then the leader of a Pah-Wraith cult etc. etc. And not to mention Garak. From a "simple taylor" in the first seasons he starts to slowly admit his collaboration with the Obsidian order and in the ending seasons he is tottaly open about it! I like that!

Then Garak even becomes a revolutionary fighter for Cardassia.

The Series is great why are you complaining about it?

The only reason you dont like the series is probably because you were watching Star Trek Voyager when DS9 was around..

You need to watch 30 episodes or so to get into DS9 storylines.

I liked DS9 but I do think it was pretty much an acquired taste.

Bear in mind, all their good writers were still working on TNG scripts, and when that series finished, then they switched over to working on DS9

DS9 was great. When I first heard about it ("Star Trek on a SPACE STATION?!?!?!?), I was very upset and was worried that it would be really bad. But I saw it, and saw the potential it had, and I fell in love with it. Because they were staying in the same place every week, they had to deal with the consquences of their actions, which gave the show a depth that none of the other series have had.
