From the first time I saw you, wrapped up in your daddy's arms,
I knew I loved you.
You're beautiful skin, your wispy hair,
You were perfect.
Changing your first nappy, giving you your first bath,
You looked at me with those eyes, big and blue.
Feeding you for the first time, nestled against my skin,
I looked at you and smiled.

Later on, your first smile, directed at me,
It made me so proud.
I saw you roll over, from one side of the bed to the other,
You know how to get around.
When you were ill, I tried to look after you,
I was so worried.
You are my daughter, and through good times and bad,
Your mammy loves you.
