I can't think of a good reason that this post thread be allowed here at all.

To say that the U.S. deserved that is ridiculous. The U.S. does good across the planet, and moreso than any other nation. So absolutely not, we were backstabbed.

The extreme Muslim world hates those who are well off, simply because it proves their extremism wrong.

Let me rephrase this, I do not justify terrorist acts, I do not think America deserved to be attacked, and I stand behind President Bush 100%. But I do believe that America did deserve a reality check. We have our head in the clouds. We live in a real world, and its time we came back to it. Yes, as Theresa said, "some arrogance is deserved" and I agree, SOME is okay, but I think we've gone a little too far.

I suggest you seriously reconsider your decision to serve in the US armed forces. Apparently you've forgotten what happened September 11.

Oh no, I haven't forgotten, how can I when I came so close to losing someone I loved, and I want the bastards to pay for what they did just as much as the next american does, and I don't aplaud them for what they did, but I can see why they did it.

If you think terrorism is justifiable, at all, you have no cause defending your country from terrorists. You can have sympathy for a people, but not the cowardly actions they take against civilians. Terrorism is never justifiable. Not even "sorta". Like has been said, you can understand, but justify? Never.

From the argument you provided on MSN, the US should now bend over and take it up the a$$ for every wrong thing that our government has ever done. Whether or not that country even blames us for their circumstance... Yeah, real valid point.

As for teaching us a lesson? Ha. No. All it has done is make us more aware. We know that we have vulnerablities.
Strongest nation........ Militarily, we kind of are. I am of course counting those countries allied w/ the US. I'm sure if the whole world went after us, allied, we'd get our asses kicked, but before that happened, there'd be one heck of a fight.
And it's natural for a people to think that their country is the strongest and greatest. I'd be rather disappointed if others didn't, also. It's called patriotism. Of course you have to balance that w/ reality, but, well, you get my point.

^^^^ Yeah! That's what I think.

I'm sure the American government has secrets that they are keeping from their people, but their not the only ones. America just wants to protect their people and by doing that they must make tough decisions. Their was no way to bypass 9/11 and it could have happend to anyone. America's just trying to get even for all of those people that have died in the world trade centers.

Some people don't care about their own country, some will vote for a democrat that will not protect America. Instead of a President that will. Guess some people just want to see more people die by terrorist.
I am not changing my vote. I vote Bush cause I know I feel safe.

During the war thousend of peaple died, fighting to make sure a mad man did not take away our freedom. If we give in to terorisam we will be paving the why for other mad man to do this and they will have died for nothing. Terorisam is an act of war and it must be stoped, unfortunatly these mad man do not care who they kill. But by killing Cervilans they think we will give in to them, 9/11 was the worst thing they could have done. Now the world is united in the fight to stop terorisam, these paeple should not have died, no one should have to die becose some mad man says so.

Exactly, and it is unfortunate.
Now Bush should declare actual war against terrorism.

I have two things to say:
1. What is the one thing America hasn't shied away from fighting for? Freedom, what do terrorists do? Take Freedom away thats what!
2. I would imagine it hard to declare war on terrorisim, i mean that in some respects the American military is a terrorist group, why does no one fight the Americans directly? They are too scared of going against the worlds largest Army (America) and her ally the worlds largest Navy (U.K.) and terrorists are people that instill fear into people.

These are my independant opinions though, I understand that people have different people have different opinions, but as a soldier that is fighting in the war against terror I believe that no wars, no fighting at all is the way to go.

I agree with 4evajaneway on this one. Well i kind of agree. I agree that America has no right to do what it does and barge in on other countries' business. I think that the Americans deserved something, but they didn't deserve 9/11. No country deserves that.

I don't see how people can say that Americans deserved anything. If you have a problem with something the American military did, then take it up with them. It's not as if the civilians are the ones making all the decisions.

No, America does not deserve it. I am proud to be an America and to say America deserves it is flawed.

once all of you serve in the military then you will know what war is about and maybe you will get it through your heads to NOT believe the media. Do you know what the Iraqis are doing to the POWs they capture?

Some people on here don't care cause they have one track minds. They will believe what they want. They see what is really is happening. Like the ones who been over in Iraq like my husband.
Yeah they don't realize what the Iraqis are doing to our men at all. Of course that is my opinion.
