Does all Photon Torpedoes look the same?
Because i think, Voyager's Photon Torpedoes looks different from Enterprise's one.

The ones that look vastly different are the ones from nemesis.

The torps in Voyager are Photon Torps, but the ones in Enterprise are just ordinary everyday torps I use.

The torpedoes on enterprise are photon torpedoes.

Voyagers photon torpedoes are type 6, they are the latest ones.

(don't know why type the Enterprise-E has)

I very much doubt they are like the ones you use apart from the fact they are both called 'Torpedoes'.

I was just making a visuall analysis, both the torpedoes look the same on the inside of the ship. Also in the early episodes of Ent they comment on an alien race having "Photonic Torpedoes" If they too had them they would not have reacted in that way, if at all.

In the Enterprise book "What Price Honor?" it says that Enterprise is equipped with (this is the NX-01 by the way) "Fusion", "Spatial" and "Photon" torpedoes. But whilst presumably "Spatial" torps are the standard one, the book is set during Season 2 and as such wouldn't have "Photon" torps. As for what "Fusion" are, who knows?

I think its more to do with the development of CGI rather than anything determined in the "Trek universe" - just the producers using a different special effect.

For example, the torpedoes in "Nemesis" are closer in appearance to those in "Enterprise" rather than the other series...

chroniton torpedo
Tactical weapon used by the Krenim of the Delta Quadrant. Chroniton torpedoes were able to penetrate defensive shields because they were in a constant state of temporal flux. (Before and After [VGR]).

photon torpedo
Tactical weapon used by Federation starships. Photon torpedoes are self-propelled missiles containing a small quantity of matter and antimatter bound together in a magnetic bottle, launched at warp speed at a target. Photon torpedoes are usually the weapon of choice when a ship is at warp drive, since they are not limited by the speed of light. The warhead can be removed from a photon torpedo, leaving a small, high-speed missile that can be used as an instrumented probe, to transport small objects (The Emissary [TNG]), and even for burials in space. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, The Schizoid Man [TNG]). Galaxy -class starships are capable of launching up to ten photon torpedoes simultaneously from a single launch tube. Each torpedo can be independently targeted. (The Arsenal of Freedom [TNG]). A Galaxy -class starship is normally equipped with 250 photon torpedoes. (Conundrum [TNG]). The U.S.S. Voyager was equipped with type-6 photon torpedoes. (Dreadnought [VGR]).

pulse wave torpedo
Explosive device. A Vulcan spaceship used a pulse wave torpedo in a futile attempt to repair a subspace rupture in 2169. A pulse wave torpedo was also used when a subspace rupture was believed to have formed near Deep Space 9 in 2369. (If Wishes Were Horses [DS9]).

quantum torpedo
Advanced weaponry developed by Starfleet in the late 2360s. Quantum torpedoes were installed on the U.S.S. Defiant. (Defiant [DS9]). While at the Founders homeworld in 2372, Garak attempted to override the launch controls for the Starship Defiants quantum torpedoes. Garak was attempting to destroy the planets surface in order to kill all the Founders. (Broken Link [DS9]). In 2372, the weapons systems of the U.S.S. Lakota were upgraded, including a loadout of quantum torpedoes. (Paradise Lost [DS9]). The Cardassian guided tactical missile known as Dreadnought was equipped with quantum torpedoes. (Dreadnought [VGR]). The crew of the Enterprise -E used quantum torpedoes to destroy a time-traveling Borg sphere. (Star Trek: First Contact). In 2373, in order to convince Michael Eddington to give himself up, Benjamin Sisko fired quantum torpedoes containing 50 kilograms of trilithium resin into the atmosphere of planet Solosos III, a Maquis colony. This rendered the planet uninhabitable for a period of 50 years. (For the Uniform [DS9]).

gravimetric torpedo
Sophisticated energy weapon. Captain Kathryn Janeway of the U.S.S. Voyager used a gravimetric torpedo on stardate 51781 to destroy about 200 million Omega molecules. (The Omega Directive [VGR]).

plasma torpedo
Powerful weapon employed by the Romulan Star Empire. Romulan plasma torpedoes employed trilithium isotopes. Senator Cretak deployed 7,000 plasma torpedoes at the hospital facility on Derna, much to the displeasure of the Bajoran government and the Federation. (Image in the Sand [DS9]).

the fusion torpedo (if it does exist i dont recognise it...) is probably a nuke of some kind...

thermonuclear weapons are far less powerful than Photon (Matter/Antimatter) and Quantum (Zero-Point Energy)

Photon: Red/Orange

Quantum: Blue/Green/Aqua

Yeah that fits in with them using nuclear weapons during the Romulan wars I suppose.

But anyway I just finished reading the latest Enterprise book, "Daedalus's Children" and in this one, it refers to "Phase Torpedoes"...It's the same author and he seems to be making up stuff as he goes. Am really going off the Enterprise books...I get the feeling that the editors aren't spending as much time on the books as they could do - instead focusing instead on the marketing appeal and ultimately, the amount of money they want to bring in via the franchise in book format.

At the beginning of the book, it specifically states that the events of the book take place before <insert episode name here> (its the one where the Bounty Hunter captures Archer) yet blatently refers to photon torpedoes in this book and the prequel in the duology.

The shame of it all!
