What is the base for the Bajoran Religion?

The Bajorans are a very ancient race of people, with a history that dates back over 25,000 years. Bajorans are a deeply spiritual people. Their spirituality is deeply rooted in their society. They look to their spiritual leader, the Kai, for guidance and leadership. The Kai is not only a supreme religious leader, but also a powerful political figure.

According to Bajoran religion, their Prophets are godly spiritual entities that reside in a part of space known as the Celestial Temple. Some Bajorans believe that the Celestial Temple is actually the wormhole.
It is believed that these entities sent the Bajorans nine Orbs of which the Cardassians stole eight. These Orbs are crystal artifacts that provide the Bajorans with the necessary direction and wisdom through visions. The Kai uses these visions to help lead Bajor both spiritually and politically.

I would like to know what Real World Religion thay were based on.

Also, there are TEN orbs. The final found by Sisko, Orb of the Emissary. After the thrown of the Pah-Wraiths into the Fire Cave, the Prophets took Sisko in with them.
