PostSat May 08, 2004 12:26 pm    Would You?

hypotheticle situation:

President Bush makes a public statement saying that we desperatly need more troops to go to Iraq and to fight the war on terrorism, and requests that all people able enlist in the military.

Now, assuming you are old enough, would you volunteer to go over to Iraq and enlist in the military?

Well, personally, I wouldn't. I don't believe in war and I don't condone it. If a bunch of pigs want to fight each other over their share of the slop, it's best for me to stay out of the way.

I would have to say No, because I refuse to fight in Countries where my Muslim Brothers are the dominant Religion, even if the religion's Message has been deviated. I also believe that those who Live by the Sword shall die by the Sword.

^ I can see your reason is a good one not to go. I respect that. but... Paul Marshall, that's a bit... yeah.

I would go. because my country is something I would like to stand for and fight for. now... the reason we are over there is not necessarily why I would go. But I consider myself a loyal person and if the country I have pledged my allegiance to calls me to arms, then I would like to go through with my pledge and answer that call. And I'd rather die by a bullet doing that than die old in bed knowing I didn't. so. I'm not some mindless welching pig quarreling over slop, but instead a loyal citizen going through with my pledge. I like to keep promises, is all.

I would also go. Those who are not willing to fight to protect there and others freedom do not deserve to have it at all. I think that this war is justified and there is no reason to not help in the defense of our national, and international freedoms.

If it were that desperate, I would go. My family doesn't 'Believe' in women in the military (Go figure) but I think I'd go anyway, even if they did (And they would) dissaprove.

I myself dont beleive women should be in the military either, but I am not going to stop those who feel they should enlist, as long as its their freely made choice.

I know, but I really am not for it personally, I am kinda with the old philosophy, "No harm to women or children"

I dont think that women should have to deal with wars in that kind of physical way, that is a mans job and women should not have to kill. I know it sounds sexist, but thats just how I feel. However, if they choose to join on their own, then thats fine, as long aas they can meet the same standards that is required of men, then I guess they have that right to choose.

I voted no because I personally feel this war is wrong.

So, the American troops are PIGS now, huh? Now that's just wrong.

Normally, I would have said yes to a question like that.

But I do think that our time in Iraq is over. Give the country back to the people now instead of June. let the soldiers sit on the sidelines while people pick their new leader, then leave once we know nothing will go wrong.... but then again, Murphy's Law.

Let me put it this way. If I had the choice between being brutally murdered in the most painful fashion immaginable for my country, or pass away painlessly in my sleep, I would chose to die for my country. I plan on joining the airforce.

I would not go. If this hypothetical situation did ever turn reality, fortunately for me I don't live in america.

^Ok everyone, just suppose you did live in America, and you were able to enlist. Just assume it is up to you whether you join or not.

Ok well no i wouldnt, my reason is pretty selfish too, I have too much to live for, too much ahead of me to risk it in Iraq.

For my country, yes. For a specific war like Iraq, no.

This is going to sound really Klingon, but I will die with my honor, and god help the poor bastard who gets in my way.

I would only go to war if my Brea Fama was being threatened. Other then that I wouldn't. As much as I support freeing people from tyrancy. I come first, I'm trying to achieve peace in my life. And going to war killing people is not the way to get it. I only condone violence when my Brea Fama or I am being specifically threatened, these are the only things that would allow me to go physically violent.

Violence is a terrible thing, and once you let it out of yourself.. It's hard to put it back in.

Heck the most violent thing I do is poking Krall. Who then pushes me over. And is punished by B' for doing so.
