I think it looks excellent (might go this weekend) but I don't think it has gone down well with critics has it?

I saw it...and laughed my @$$ off through most of it.

CGI was uber great IMO...I mean the wearwolves and vampires were awesome....
BUt the acting was kinda below par...except for Dracula. Dracula was the saving grace of the movie.

The reason I laughed was that some parts that were apparently meant to be scarey just ended up coming off as goofy.

Definately worth seeing...I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars...just because Dracula was awesome.

Of course. that's because Richard Roxburgh is awesome at being evil. plus, if you've seen him in Moulin Rouge as the Duke, you can see he's quite well rounded in that field

Yeah, in Moulin Rouge he was kind of humorous as a bad guy. I saw Van Helsing the Monday before last. I loved it. I thought that the friar was hilarious, and Dracula was so cool.

I liked the movie.

I'm not a big fan of CGI if I'm honest but even though there was a lot of it in this movie, I still enjoyed it.

It had some interesting moments, some great twists and plenty of entertainment which is what any good movie should provide.

I'd recommend it to anyone, even strangers on the street.

Hmmm...I thought it was OK but nothing special. Dracula was excellent but I didn't think it played like a horror movie - more of an action/adventure film. It had all the iconography but somehow none of it was scary...and that kinda took away the magic from the "monsters".

Amazing special effects though and I loved that first bit in Paris!

I loved the fact that the movie was a tribute to the old classic horror films

What about if they did a sequel? Who could Van Helsing take on?

How about The Invisible Man, a classic Universal villain? That would be an interesting contest, how would Van Helsing combat an invisible and ruthless man?

Or maybe he could fight a Mummy or a Creature From The Black Lagoon style-monster.

What do you think?

I think that would be cool! And if they're having any doubts about making a sequel, I say they should!

Take me with you. I would love to go see it again. Unfortunately for me, for some unbeknownst reason, my parents didn't like it all that much so there goes any chance I may have had at seeing it a second time.

I'll understand if you don't answer but how old are you?

The reason I ask is because I'm wondering whether you're old enough to see the movie yourself if your parents won't go.

Umm...I hated Van Helsing...so much hype, and cool lookingness, then it just ended up being a crappy story, where there was like 2 things going on. Good movies have tons of people and tons of things going on.

I'm fourteen, so I'm old enough, just my parents don't like the idea of my walking to the theater by myself.
