What happens if they don't feel sorry though?

Death penalty does not really seem like a positive solution for those sort of people. If they don't feel sorry for the crime then... they do not feel sorry for it! There is nothing besides capital punishment like mr vorrik suggested that will fix it. If they do not feel sorry for the crime in jail, then putting them to death will not do any different.

Like I said, most countrys have moved past DP (even star trek has moved past it), so why do the usa still do it???

I haven't really decided if I am against it or not. I cant really understand why a person would commit so many crimes that they know they will be going to the death chair.. or whatever. But in some cases I agree and in some I dont. It all depends what the person did..

If a person kills someone yes they should be put to death. don't expect them to get by with it.

There is a number of cases in the bible that God says that if anyone kills someone else then they should be killed though...

Are we not supposed to try to immitate the life of Christ? If so, then do you think that Christ would support the death penalty. Be honest with yourself. I personally doubt that Christ would support the death of any human life.

What good would it be, then?

"Whoever sheds the blood of a human, by a human shall that persons blood be shed; for in his own image God made humankind."
[Gen. 9.6]

"Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it, struck the high preists slave, and cut off his right ear. Jesus said to Peter 'Put your sword back in its sheath'. Am I not to drink the cup that the Father has given to me?'"
[John 18.10-11]

"Blessed are the merciful, for thy will receive mercy"
[Matt 5.4]

"If someone strikes you on the cheek, do not realiate, but offer him the other."

MURDER:
SYLLABICATION: murder
PRONUNCIATION: AUDIO: mrdr KEY
TRANSITIVE VERB:
2. To kill brutally or inhumanly

I also beleive one of the commandments was also, "Though shall not murder".

Thou Shalt Not Kill.

I'm still trying to find the bit where it says unless they've killed themselves, or are citizens of Iraq
