PostFri Apr 23, 2004 4:35 pm    The Q

Ok if people could help me along here because I'm only a very big begginer in terms of science but anyways here goes the Q are believed to be an evolved state of humans,
Now here goes:
we are made up of Atoms
which started out as bacteria and evolved
we have people such as witchs and telepaths ETC they may not have supernatural powers but maybe because they believe strongly enough on the subject they can some how manipulate the the atoms
Now a Q could it be that they have become one with atoms ok thats wrong I know I hope I can explain it well enough they have became able to be pure energy and can control the Atoms at will to do the things they do I hope u understand this and can tell me if u think I'm near

All The Q are are fictional characters made by writers. Just because it's in Star Trek doesn't mean it has hard scientific backing.

People really should stop thinking Star Trek is real life, when in fact it's far from it.

...But, in Star Trek, an explanation, to the best of my knowledge, is never given for the Q. It is just some sort of mighty entity.

Yet still, they were just made up by writers, therefore no explanation is really necessary.

Its all sorta connect to the Xmen theory, and it could be true. Certin things are being 'sorted out' of our physiology (such as wisdom teeth), and somethings are being put in, (such as powers people may have, or even just being a taller race). So infact in years from now we could develop into a Q like race, thought i really dont believe to that extent.

The Q are an unexplained mystery, that perhaps we will never know.

I dont think that Q's could have evolved from Humans thought. Remember the last episode of TNG, where they go back to see Human's as "Goop". How could The Q's be around before their species came into existance?

Well, the Q ostensibly evolved into a noncorporeal, non-linear species, which means they can move freely through the space-time continuum, whereas humans are limited to only moving forward (normally).

However, I agree that the Q are most likely a separate species from humans.

Hmm... Makes sence.. But i don't think that the human race could evolve into such a state, how long it would take to acheive that? Personally I think the sun will die before we get anywhere close to evolving that far.

Not very long, if we can keep from killing each other. Expotentially, as our population increases, and the world's general population increases in education, our technology levels and innovation levels will drastically increase.

it does not have to make sense, maybe Q stands for q- questions, because we are asking so many damn questions bout them
they did not evolve from humans though, remember they despise us, they cant have possibly evolved from anything to prove that they are fictional all you have to do is realise that you are watching STAR TREK!!! they have control over space and time, nothing will ever be able to do the same.

The Q are elevated beings that exist in a parralell universe to our own. if you watch when kirk travels through time in his bird of prey, he travels to a dimension whee thought and matter can co-exist on the same plane.

so...this could mean that the Q are evolved enough to be able to travel through realities (TRUE) they can control atoms (TRUE) they can travel through time (TRUE again) they might be able to do this by "SOMEHOW" connecting thier dimension to ours and traversing across the gap.

i would also like to point out that the Q are irritated by the bord in star trek voyager's episode Q2, this might be because the borg might have found a way to breach into the dimension of the Q.

i any case, however the Q do it, it is clear that they are NOT an evolved type of human, because in the words of Q: "The Q have always been, and always will be."

Thats true when Qs son annoys the Borg his father tells him not to annoy the borg.
I doubt that the Borg could assimilate the Q though because the Q are the purest form of life and energy (I think)

Well, I wouldn't say the purest form...but who's to argue that? I'm not sayig they are, because they're not. But, they may be. Because they've all done everything there is to do. So, who knows.

And no the Borg can't assimilate a Q in their omnipotent state of being. But they could assimilate a mortal Q. So, it depends on which kind of Q you're talking about. LOL...

Sorry, I know that's like REALLY nit picky and technical, but it's true. hehe
