What do you think about DS9?
Exiting?
Boring?
Both?
What do you think?

I like DS9, some parts of the first few seasons can be rather slow, but it heats up later on in the series. Touched upon some issues that weren't shown in other ST series, also.

I really love DS9. When I first watch the episodes, it felt wierd. An all new cast, no starship and all, it didn't feel right. But after a few episodes, I was hooked. DS9 is a great show and I believe that them being on a space station instead of a starship enhanced their relationships. The writers sure did a good job!

Again, stated earlier the first number of seasons were boring but it really picked up and improved in the latter years.

Very, very true indeed.
I had preconceived notions about DS9 before I first watched it in the early 90's. Because it had no starship, I felt uneasy about it before I had even watched it.
But, once I put away my prejudices, and watched the show, I enjoyed it very, very much.
Basing the characters on a solitary space station means that the writers had to be more creative, not having the luxury of sending their crew off into space each week. As good as other Trek shows were, at least Kirk, Picard, Janeway and Archer can (some of the time) just shoot off into the galaxy after dealing with a problem. But whatever happened in one DS9 episode impacted on another. That's what I liked about it.

I haven't seen earlier seasons, just 4-6 of yet, but I LOVE DS9. Perhaps the best series, I think. That characters were well-developed, and just excellently written for.

Looking at your above comment, B' Ellana, that's why I liked DS9. It is probably the most realistic series because there is tension between characters and everyone has their own motivation for things.
Look at any real-life workplace and you'll find tension, ideological differences, people wanting to get ahead any way they can, people having different motives for doing the job. That's what DS9 was about.
Babylon 5 was the same and so are so many good shows. Whilst I like buddy-buddy shows, they're not true to life. I'd much rather watch a show with tension and ulterior motives than a Mutual Admiration Society cast of characters.

When I first saw DS9, it was all about the Bajorans, with NO action...It was boring...but now I REALLY like it...It has probably the most developed characters since TOS, and really does, like others say, touch on issues not addressed fully in other series. It's really picking up speed, I like the Dominion Wars, and other aspects...Plus, it's a different perspective--a STATION, not an exploring ship, and a STABLE wormhole to the GAMMA Quadrant...It's great...Plus, some Ferengis are on the station, which is AWESOME...

DS9 is my favorite Star Trek series right now, just because when it was origonally on tv i was only 11 or maybe younger, and i cant really remember anything that happens. I think that its awesome that they put it on spike now so i can get caught up on everything that i missed. Its like watching new episodes.

I agree with you, Voyager does have that certain 'edge' to it, .

DS9 is boring but with the episodes with Garak is not. Some episodes I can get into. But not all of them.

There are no new episodes, the series ended.

DS9 is my favorite trek, for following reasons:
It's exciting, based on solid story plot, it's very different than regular treks (ie space station), and of course great cast.

I agree gul. This is a great show. To this day its my favorite ST series. The others are great but this felt ironically the most human. The way that people evolved on the show. The great aliens. The great space battles or hand to hand battles. The religious themes. Not just the Bajorans but, the Vorta and Jem;Hadar with their changeling gods. Not to mention the graphics were great. That wormhole opening up looked amazng. The Defiant firing those rapid blasts at a Jem'Hadar ship was great. Cardassians and the Dominion are like my favorite bad guys. Not to mention how this show grew up and in a sense you felt like you grew up with them. Thats why it was painful to say goodbye to the show because your saying goodbye to those you watched grow.
