Ahem...no...they do not disregard science. Not all of us, thanks. I'm sort of...how would you say...in the science field? And kind of...a biologist...? Taking a class from an...atheist? Who does everything to disprove the existence of God? And yet?

I still believe in God.

How exactly do you know that your teacher is trying to disprove the existance of God?? Maybe he is just feeding you so much of the truth you twist it around and happen to think it's 'Ungodly'.

No, he actually gives 'reasons' that creationism 'Does no work.' His exact words; "These are the reasons that creationism does not work." We see? I think what he teaches on this particular subject is, from my point of view, idiotic. I think that the theory of evolution is just hilarious, and I would seriously like to know how he thinks that, as someone on here mentioned before, the elements of this 'Big Bang' came to be to begin with.

So no, he does not 'Feed me the truth'. I don't think it's the truth--how could it be true if, in his own words, nothing in science is proven? Nothing in science, according to him, is concrete. Theories almost always change over time in one way or another.

Now, I'm going to leave this be and quit going on, 'cause arguing over it *almost* never changes anyone's mind, and *almost* always leaves people more aggressive and stubborn in their ways than ever.

^I see what you're saying. That guy shouldn't be teaching if he goes that far with his points of view. That's kind of like trying to teach someone that random killing is right, when they've learned that it is wrong their whole lives.

Yeah, the same except it's more to people who think that science and religion can't co-exist. Religion doesn't say that science isn't true for most things. Religion explains why in many cases and science the how. In a number of cases something such as the earth being at the centre of the universe might be used to say that religion is wrong. But point out the place in the bible that it says the earth is at the center of the universe? It was something that the church (as an organisation) took up, although there is nothing to back it up. It's flaws on the part of people, and not the religion.

Science is not true cause they just set out to prove there is no God when there is. You can not tell me that there is no God. Cause if you are blind then you don't know the truth nor can't see it.

People who believe in God tend to think that God is all-knowing, all-seeing, all-everything. God can do anything. God has absolute and unlimited power.

If this is true, then God can create a stone that he/she can't lift. But if this is the case, then God can't do anything anymore and thus not omnipotent.

It contradicts itself...

I think that Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung were on the right track with the issue of whether God exists or does not exist. Now, this is just my idea about God (I don't want people jumping on my case). God is just a manifestation of our desire for perfection. God is the ideal we have of rising above the enviroment. It is the symbol for the yearning that we have had to improve further and further since we emerged from the primordial sludge, since we began to walk upright and create.
In the same sense, the Devil is the manifestation of our deep primative desires. He represents chaos, anarchy whereas God, Christ, etc. represents order and evolution. We must tell te devil (regression) "get thee behind me" and find salvation in God (progression). Human beings tend toward using symbols to wrap their heads around collosal ideas and circumstances.

I don't agree with that. I'm sorry, but that is NOT me.

And what do you mean by "hijacked portion," Theresa?

I don't know who you are Kmma but don't get mad easily at people.

I personally believe in God but there is no use in fighting. Let people think what they want to think and move on.

Some advise, Kmma. If you see a topic you don't agree with then just put a opinion and leave. I know I made my share of mistakes in life.

Ok, so you don't disregard the science. But most people who are religious do disregard the science; thats the way they were brought up, not their fault. Thats only my opinion of course. Don't try to take that away from me.

1. I moved it to where you could continue your rant, because I was not going to allow it here.
2. It was not one post, I assumed, as did others, that you were conversing. You seem to like to yell at others, so there you go.
3. If you make one more post in this topic regarding this issue, you will be warned. Again.
There is a wonderful PM feature, and I know you know how to use it.

Well, if you ask me I don't know really to be honest. In away I think we do but if you look at it on the science level no we don't really. Are we the only one's? No in my opinion why would there be other places out there for nothing...right. I think that there has to be more then just us here. Does God exist...well that is a matter of opinion...but I really don't know myself.

Yes we exist.
Yes, others exist, if I do, why shouldn't they?
As in aliens and such? Why not.
Hmmm, I'm leaning towards "does not."

I'm not taking your opinion away from you, but most religious people believe in science. Religion doesn't train people to not accept science. As I said before, science explains the how, and the religion the why. They can co-exist together, it doesn't mean that one is the right way, and the other is wrong.

As I have said a few times before, although you've ignored it, the Big Bang does not disprove of God. It says that God created the world (at least in the bible) but not how he did. It could have been by a Big Bang.
