If you are like me then you have been wondering why T'Pol, being Vulcan sometimes shows emotion.

Well, my friend claims that a reliable source has claimed that T'Pol acts this way because she is experimenting and/or abusing and illegal drug. I was excited to know this. It is also for sure that the Enterprise will not be completly destroyed.. Anyhow, it wasn;t much, but figured I would post it.

Two reasons B&B have totally ruined TREK!!!!!!!!2nd....the expanse for some reason reconfigures the Vulcan mind. They havent figured out why tough. There are many things they added to T'Pol that they souldnt have.

Inconsistencies. Like I said in an earlier topic Trek is full of them, that and the fact the the killer B's have "killed" certain parts of Trek.

no at that time vulcan mind melds were illegal and there was a small minority of vulcans that had emotions. that were basically cast out from vulcan but when enterprise met up with there ship, one of them melded with T'pol. Which made her a bit like them (but im not sure if she was already one of them or not, can't remeber)

has anyone ever seen that episode? it was wierd!

From episode summary of "Damage". This kinda supports the roomer that T'Pol may be on something.

How does the expanse messing with T'Pol's mind, have anything to do with ruining the Vulcan race as a whole?

I can answer that right now, it doesn't. They're just playing around with her character, I see no big harm in that. She's one vulcan out of billions, does it spell the end of consistancy for the entire Vulcan race? .. hell no.

If they're still giving her emotions in season 4 once they're out of the expanse (I'm guessing they will be from reading the reports on episodes 21-24), then T'Pol should be back to normal for a Vulcan.

no she aint like that cuz of the expanse. the crew of vulcans on the vulcan ship went all wierd is cuz they tryed to synthesise terellium-D and when it's melted or sommat like that then it completely messes with vulcans heads. etc. etc.

I was sure I read ages ago that the expanse was directly resposible for T'Pol's behaviour, but I guess they didn't give enough details. I had a look around a few sites and found out that the expanse actually is connected to why T'Pol is experiencing emotions, but it's not the direct reason.

If you want to know exactly what it is, read here: http://www.treknation.com/episodes/enterprise/season3/damage.shtml

anything can happen in the trek universe, therefore, there have never been any mistakes in any of the series........even if you thought you saw wires or a zipper on a glove in tos, there is an explanation for it, whether it is logical or not

PostSun May 16, 2004 9:57 pm    Trillium-D

T'Pol first began experiencing the emotions when Enterprise picked up the trillium to protect itself from the anomalies in the expanse. She wanted to experience them more and began to ingest the trillium. Soon, she developed a way to inject it into her bloodstream directly. In the episode after the attack by the reptilians, she goes to Dr. Phlox who helps her rid herself of the addiction he had had for three months. The trillium damaged her neural path ways, so some of the emotions will never subside, according to herself in the episode where Enterprise meets its counterpart that ventured into the past.

I gained all this information exclusively from watching the episodes.

I apologize for not knowing the episode names; I always miss the first 20 seconds of them
