I don't understand why everyone's having such a bad problem with XP...

My thinkpad works fine with it. It takes 30 secs to boot up and 15 to shut down. It's only crashed once, in the middle of a defrag, but that was due to an overheat.

Yeah, windows xp is quite good. It's based basically on the windows 2000 architecture. Windows 2000 is quite a good o/s too. It can be a very complex system. I use windows 2000 server on my home network server running isa server 2000 for the internet and a combination of services.

Also, the RC1 of service pack 2 for windows xp is out now. You guys should try it out. it has some very nifty features. Mainly looks like internet security and firewall features.

Put your XP cd back in, load from CD. Tell it you want to install XP again, then when it detects that its already installed, press "R" to repair. DO NOT USE THE REPAIR CONSOLE! It should fix itself if there is something wrong.

It's ok, I've got it working now. I've even got the two computers networked, but they won't share my BT Broadband connection One problem left!

Yay! Well, some broadband services are just un-sharable. But keep at it!

My Windows XP is going to expire in 14 days! I have a cracked version, and I cant get it to work!

Download more registration keys for it

(The version I got for my mum is a cracked version, but the key didn't work... but the 35th one I tried did )

If you've got the cracked Professional... I've got a key for it

BKQW7~3JYTB~D26TX~DHPDM~3MTKG will work fine even when updating from windows update. It's a better key to use than the FCKGW one. And a good thing is I remember it off by heart now

I don't feel too bad because I actually have perfectly legal copies of 95, 98, 98SE, and XP Home. I'm not paying 3 weeks worth of money for a piece of software...

I had a legal copy, then my ass friend stole the key.

Anyways, thanks alot for the key. I tested it though, its invalid. Either you typed it wrong, or it doesnt work.

Yes, I have pro. And I am constantly searching for that working key or keygen.

^I forgot to mention that the key is only for windows xp with service pack 1 embedded. Also, it is not limited to a single pc like all other keys

Just my own personal opinion here, nobody take offense or anything...

Windows. Sucks.

Embrace the future! Go the open-source route! Use Linux. It's more compatible with hardware, OPEN SOURCE, immune to 99% of viruses, OPEN SOURCE, more stable, OPEN SOURCE, and plus it's open source.

Hmm, maybe, maybe not. Most of my knowledge is microsoft. Microsoft windows 2000 active directory, terminal services, exchange, isa server etc. Even played around with clustering in 2000 adv server.

But in short, I think most companys run Microsoft as their platform. So skills primaraly in Microsoft are more important. There is the compatibility issue, too.

At the end of the day, I would rather stick with the devil I know, than to switch to the devil I don't know.....
