Man Jailed for Raping Wife
Quote: | A husband from south Liverpool who repeatedly raped his wife during and after their marriage has been jailed for six and a half years.
The offences only came to light after the 50-year-old man raped her while she was unconscious having taken an overdose in a suicide bid.
After the rape, which was witnessed by the woman's 14-year-old daughter, he called the police and the next day admitted the offences.
judge Mark Brown, who ordered the man to be on extended licence for 10 and a half years, said: "It is clear you treated your wife abominably.
"You had absolutely no respect for her and the fact these instances occurred within a domestic context can in no way justify of excuse your actions. It is clear you raped her on many many occasions, said to amount to more than 100."
Judge Brown said that the man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, had not known his former wife had taken an overdose when he last raped her but he knew she was incapable of fending for herself.
He imposed an extended licence because reports show he is a high risk of re-offending probably in a domestic situation. He also ordered him to sign on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.
Lesley Carter, prosecuting, told Liverpool Crown Court that the couple met in 1980 when she was 16 and he was 28. From the outset if she refused to have sex he did it anyway, the court heard.
They married and moved to south Liverpool and had four children. Throughout the marriage he regularly had sex with her without her consent, usually when he had been drinking, and she accepted it as an inevitable part of her life because she did not know what to do.
After she met someone else in 1997 she started divorce proceedings but even after the divorce he continued to call around to see the children and raped her. She became more depressed and made attempts on her life including on November 28 2002.
It was while she lay unconscious having taken an overdose he called round and raped her. She awoke to find she was naked from the waist down and police officers and ambulancemen had arrived following 999 calls made by him, said Miss Carter.
The man, who had no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to raping her between January 1995 and August 2002 and raping her on November 2002.
Simon Driver, defending, said that the defendant had psychological and drink problems for which he has sought help. "He realises he must be punished and is determined to use his time and any support provided during his sentance to tackle his problems," he said. |

Where was that artical from might I ask? There are lots of errors in it so there for I know someone typed it up and it was not found online or in a newspaper..that many errors would have been taken out before it was published.
And what do you mean this is about your mom and dad?

I typed it up from a newspaper... I couldn't find it online. I mean the man is my dad and the woman is my mum. The 14 year old is my younger sister.

So it's your father then, Seven of Nine, who raped your mother?
So where will you and your brothers and sisters stay? With your Mom?

I am very sorry, and I feel terrible that this had to happen to you. No one should ever have to go through that and I am deeply saddened that you did.

Currently, I live with my partner, and my mum and the youngest two are staying with me. My other sister is staying with our cousin on the other side of the country, while my mum looks for a house. This happened over a year ago, but I was too upset to talk about it much then.
As for how we all are, my mum is getting treatment for post traumatic stress disorder and depression, my sister is going through a really bad patch and the other two are trying to forget it.
After this happened, Social Services and the police messed up so they're trying everything to get themselves out of trouble, such as illegal child protection conferences (people off the street were allowed to come in, they didn't tell my mum she was allowed a solicitor, etc), refusing to take the kids into their care when my mum was unable to cope with them, saying she was drunk when she hadn't been drinking (she has CFS/ME so she often can't walk or get out of bed).

I have noticed that with some government agencies...when they screw up they try to cover it up and blame it on someone or something else...they should have to pay for their crimes...Just like we do.

I can understand what your mom went through, but my situation is different though. I was raped when I was 16 by ex-boyfriend. It took me some few years to get over it. It was not til I got married to Charlie that I could talk about it. Now I can talk about it without the anger. It is hard but I do it without anger. It takes some time for your mom to get over it but time heals.
