PostTue Mar 30, 2004 5:57 pm    Whatever happened to the Democratic Party?

Years ago there were actually GOOD Democratic Presidents--FDR and JFK, for instance. Now, they've lost all their party values.
Now, I have 2 questions:
1, Whatever happened to the Democratic Party? Why did they allign themselves so far left?
2, Explain this: When FDR was President during World War II, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. After that, we joined in against the Japanese. Now, the Japanese were allies of the Nazis, and after Pearl Harbor, the then "911," we went after the Nazis as well. Doesn't this sound familiar to the now situation?
Look at the recent history:
-September 11th, 2001: Al Queda (Terrorists) attak America
-March, 2003: United States heads to Iraq, which harbored terrorists.

In the past, we were attacked by Japan, and then moved on to Hitler, who never did anything to us in particular.

And the Democrats supported FDR during that, but now they hate and attack Bush at every possible chance.

What do you think?

I actually admire many of the old democratic presidents, and find some of them to be better than some of the Republican presidents of there time.

I agree, such as Herbert Hoover wasn't a good President.

Yeah if you can get the right democrat in office that will protect America and against abortions and the other thing I won't mention out of respect.
You probably won't find a decent democrat around I hate to break it to ya.
We need someone with good morals in office. Not a democrat.

Spot on! Only President Bush can provide that Moral Compus, not Mr. Kerry or Mr. Nader.

Does anyone remember Norman Thomas? He was the socialist who ran for president every four years from 1928 to 1948. When asked if he would run again in 1952, he said "I have no further need to run. The Deomcrats have adopted my entire platform."

That is true, but the facts, and Democrats like Zell Miller, acknowledge the change!

Does the fact that Dems. like Zell Miller say stuff for Bush make you think a little?
