Rain falls like cats and dogs,
All the noise that is heard,
is the thump of rain on the rooftop,
It's dark, streets lights fail to shine,
I'm scared, noone to hold me near,
Thunder rolls, lightning strikes,
I shake in fear,
Is there a hero in the midst?
Sun comes out in the nick of time,
I am smiling once again.

I really like that poem. I do.
But I can't help but to criticize. I am a Literary Arts major. May I? Remember its only to help you.

Yw are welcome Morphy. Think of something that comes from your heart. Does not have to be perfect. When I finish my other poem I will post it right here.

I am fallen and alone
Tears falls from my baby
blue eyes. I cry because
I have noone. Darkness comes,
the light goes out.
Who do I turn to in this time
of need?
Oh Woa is me.
Who does not have a friend
in sight.
I cry out to God.
A bright light appears.
A voice came.
'' Don't worry my child.
I am here,
I will never leave nor forsake you.
Rest in peace.''
Tears stop falling,
I am feeling whole once
again.

Here's another poem. It's for our President George W. Bush. I am going to email it to him soon.
You are one man for God,
You show love and compassion
for men and women.
You may not always see the flower,
But God will water it,
and make it grow.
SO stand tall, stand firm.
When you see the ones you have touched,
and when you see the Lord;
then you will see your great reward.

That is excellent!
I write the odd poem, half a million stories, but that poem has got to be one of the best, all of 'em do! ... except the first one, I hope you don't mind.
Even though I'm in Aussie! And Bush is classified as ... stupid iin my books because of the "War" but yeah. It's heaps good!

American soldiers in battle don't fight for what some president says on T.V., they don't fight for mom, apple pie, the American flag ...
They fight for one another.

This poem I am about to write is dedicated to all the soldiers and especially my husband Charlie. I love u Charlie.
My husband soon to be gone off to war once more,
leaving me to face the anger and emptiness of our lovely home,
Kids crying, Daddy! Daddy! Don't go.
He leaves with tears in his hazel eyes
to fight for his country and for other people
he is an American Soldier standing ready and able
willing to stand tall and fight for what is right.
I am an American wife, with worries never known.
I stand proud of my husband no matter what the cost.
I am an American
