America is supporting the terrorist actions by the IRA. When they stop doing that maybe we can look at stopping terrorism.
Even children are dying here and that's OK by the USA so long as it doesn't affect them. Ireland has been at war with itself for hundreds of years and if this carries on then terrorism will never die. Remember that children are dieing but some people in America think if they have a slightly Irish name then they are doing some good. I understand that most Americans do not know of the goings on in Ireland and will be as disgusted as I am, being as close to it without being involved. While people think that what the IRA is doing is good for Ireland, then they cannot say what the Muslims are doing to America is any worse. Real Muslims cannot be doing this, because they do not believe in killing another human being. The Catholics and Protestants in Ireland cannot fight on religious grounds, and kill, because one of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt not kill". Please support me if you support the war against terrorism, as it happens in many areas of the world, in many forms.

true, about the IRA. i think that to fight over religion is bad, it's not worth dying for. and in ireland they have been fighting for years. but in a war it's the innocent people that will die

I'd just like to add a note...
Some people, think because they have a name like O'Grady they have to support the IRA. There isn't a lot of them, but that is what happens.
I have a very German surname, and my Grandfather was a Nazi. This doesn't mean I support the Nazi regime. Anymore than my mum supports whats going on in Ireland even though she is part Irish.

The Warrington Bombing a few years ago was a bomb, planted by the IRA, that killed two children. Is this what we need to stop?

If you read this please reply, whether you agree or not.
BTW: Apparently there have been letters in the Times about the same thing, so I'm not alone with this anger at how hypocritical the American government are.

Meggy.... I'll deal with you later...
BTW: The war in Ireland is between the Northern Irish and the British... not Eire and Nothern Ireland... Oh, and apparently, because a lot of the people who supplied the guns and bombs to the IRA were involved with the WTC... so they can't supply the IRA at the moment... you views, anyone?

I would really appreciate it if you could give references for your information. What I am seeing is very one sided. I have read about this situation, and it is not only one side antagonizing the other. And coming from what was once an opressed nation, you'd better beleive I'd fight to the death for my freedom. And yes, the Bible does say thou shalt not kill, but it also quotes an eye for an eye.

LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR:
I am not choosing one side over another, the catholics, protestants, Irish, British; none.

At least you expressed your opinion
I can understand you would want to be neutral, as would I. I am not particually bothered whether Ireland is part of Britain or not, just why they can't come to some conclusion. I just think that the IRA have no reason for bombing and killing people, and that the Americans who give them their bombs and guns are just as bad.

were living in a pretty screwed up word right now.

With american's giving the IRA bombs guns and stuff, maybe they think that in the long run they are doing good, hitler thought what he was doing was good and he killed many. but that still doesn't make it right...no one should kill another or help another be killed.

But who knows but then why would USA give the guns to IRA when they are against terrisiom

You cant compare the US to Hitler. We are not demanding that everyone be the same religion, and not be a certain nationality. Do you think that the attack is just aiming at just one religion?

Do you know what happened durring the US Revolutionary war? We(the US) were wanting our freedom. We wanted to believe in our God, and to be able to live our lives as we saw fit. Americans were being killed because we didnt want our lives dictated by what the Royal family thought we should be. Were the French wrong in helping us fight for our freedom?
The attacks on the US, cannot be compared to Ireland fighting thier own kind of Revolutionary war. Think about this, if either of your countries were suddenly demanded to be a certain religion, and follow certain rules that you did not agree with, set by your leader, would you just sit there? You'd probably be the first to want to fight for your freedom.

You need to realize the difference between unprovoked acts of terrorism, and a country fighting a war. Terrorism is one sided. It is an act carried out because of one person or groups belief.
What is going on in Ireland is not one sided. You cant tell me that there is one side who is just going about their business, and not doing anything to provoke or retaliate. Look up the definitions of war and terrorism.

Just to let you know, just because a weapon says "Made in the USA" on it, doesn't mean it came directly from us. Just a few years ago, Clinton sold tons of weapons to the Chinese. And not to mention the weapons trafficking going on. And I am very aware of things that go on in my country, I study polotics, and I have never heard any proof that the US Government has supported either side w/ weaponry. We have sent negotiators, as a matter of fact.
