does anyone sometimes feel kind of depressed or weird when they wake up in the middle of the afternoon from a nap? I do sometimes, and I've wondered if I was the only one.

It's quite common actually. I remember hearing or reading something about it... Has to do with too much sleep, or not enough... or maybe b/c it is breaking up the day... Sorry to be so vaugue... But I have heard of it and experianced it myself.

Sometimes. I think it's because it throws off your body's inner clock; it has to be just the right amount of sleep - not too much, not too little, or else it'll be off kilter for the rest of the day or so.

Yeah, it can kind of confuse your body. I took a nap for the first time in ages this past Wednesday, and it screwed my entire day up.

My pychology teacher says if your going to take a nap during the day, have it no less and no more than 20 minutes. It makes you feel refreshed for the rest of the day.

It probably depends on what you call a nap. 20min seems like a short one. However, if you nap for 2 hours, you're bound to get into trouble sleeping at night.

Yes, I often do feel like that. When I wake up from a nap I am still tired. But with me, I feel tired all the time so thats my life.

Like now, I have a headache and I want to go back to sleep because I seriously overslept this morning - I went to sleep around midnight and didn't wake up until a little after 11.

But your feeling tired is your body's reaction to throwing off your biological clock, is it not?

I usually am up for work by 1:30 am so I take naps. It varies on the day as to how I feel when I wake up. Most of the time I just still feel tired. I dont get enough sleep when I'm at home.

My mom tries to prevent from going to sleep in the middle of the day when I get home from school -- of course, I generally fall asleep before I remember to do my homework, but that's besides the point. Once I stopped taking naps, I was able to stay awake a lot easier.

I sometimes do, but I feel refreshed after. It also doesn't muck up my clock, but then that could be because I never nap except when I'm really tired. Like after I've had no sleep for the last few days. I love that feeling whe you wake up.

what I hate more than being abruptly awoken from an afternoon nap, is when I just wake up at 3 in the morning, when both parents are at work, and I'm alone, and the floor boards in my room creak because of the cat......
