Voyager Valentine's Day add a line fic...

(Hey, I'm a Star Trek fan, Tom and B'Elanna being one of my favorite couples. Sadly I've not seen Voyager for a long time, so if I've got any discrepancies in this story, I aplogize. Anyhow, this takes place anytime after Day of Honor. This is a Tom/B'Elanna first Valentine's Day round robin. I'll post this fic on ff.net in installments...Ground rules, no slash and no killing off, no changing of our primary couple (Torres/Paris) but anything else goes...)

0800 hours, 14 February:

Tom Paris walked through the decks of Voyager, a man with a mission of the utmost secrecy and importance. He had gone through several types of Valentine's Day cards in the archives but he couldn't find anything suitable. The flowers were already chosen, from the hydroponics bay. He would pick them on the way to her quarters.

For all his probing questions he still hadn't figured out what B'Elanna would want for Valentine's Day. He wasn't sure what to do yet, but he wanted their first Valentine's Day to be special. He walked through the corridors at such a speed he wasn't watching where he was going. He soldily collided with...

With the momentum that Tom had, he pushed his friend backwards a few feet.

"Tom, what... what's the rush?"

"Shhh... Harry! I'm trying to get to the Hydroponics bay without getting caught by B'elanna..."

Kim eyed him suspiciously. "Did you do something bad?"

"No! Look. It's her Valentine's day and I want it to be perfect. So will you help me out here Buddy?"

"Sure, how?"

"Don't tell her..." He said over his shoulder as he marched off. "And don't tell her where I am..."

"Harry, you're a life saver." Tom said, and disappeared down the corridor as fast as his legs could carrry him.

Not more than a minute after he'd disappeared around a corner, B'Elanna came out of the nearby turbo lift.

She saw Harry at the end of the hall and run up to him.

"Harry! It's good to see you, have you seen Tom?"

"Uh... Tom? No. Why?" Harry said quickly, as always a bit intimidated by the Cheif Engineer.

She laughed. "You're covering for him, aren't you?"

"No...."

"Good, because.......

"If you see Tom anywhere, tell him I'm looking for him." B'Elanna said, as she headed off to Engineering.

Engineering:

As she walked into the space she found a single long stemmed red rose with a little note tied to it with a red ribbon, it read, "More to follow...Find the next one in a place where the stars are vast but very small..."

Mess Hall:

Tom still had a few bugs to work out of the program he was writing, the rose was merely to pique her curiousity and stall for a little time. This was intended to make B'Elanna's first Valentine's Day extra special, but to make it so it had to be a surprise.

'It's a good thing I told Harry to make sure to warn me if B'Elanna's nearby.' Tom thought, as he encrypted another couple lines of code, once completed this Holodeck program would be perfect. All he had to do was get clue number two ready for B'Elanna. He had just left another rose in the Astrometric's area, and specifically told Seven that no one other than B'Elanna was to handle it.

About now Seven of Nine should have summed B'Elanna to the Astrometric's Lab...
