I'm taking a break from recognised sci fi books (so no Trek, Wars, Babylon 5, etc.)
Wondered if anybody had read one that they could recommend? I've looked on Amazon but there are so many I didnt know which were good and which weren't. It can be any but it must have space battles in lol - I love em
Star Wars quote: "Help me Startrekvoyager.com, you're my only hope!"
or something like that

Battlefield Earth (L.Ron Hubbard)was the best Sci-fi book I ever read. It's nothing like the movie so don't let the crappy movie scare you away.
'The Stand' (Stephen King) was an excellent, more contemporary sci-fi story, and in my opinion, his best work.
Check out Larry Niven's books if you're looking for realistic sci-fi, he's written some excellent stories.
