PostTue Feb 24, 2004 2:24 pm    Lydalias first day at the acadamy...

Hey... here's a story about my Skyline RPG cahracter... from when she was in the academy... More to come soon...

Lydalia Womble looked at the campus before her as anticipation swelled within her. Helena and Findlay watched the girl they had raised and loved as their own daughter, with pride mixed with apprehension. They had taken the girl in when she was just a few weeks old, and knew her well enough to know this was something they could never talk her out of, despite their own beliefs.

"Are you sure about this, Lydy?" The question came as no surprise to Lydalia, as a smile took over her face.
"Yes, dad, I've never been more sure about anything. I want to be a pilot of a starship, and some day a captain. This is the best way to make those dreams come true. Look, I know Starfleet doesn't exactly support everything you and mom believe in, but I have to do this. For me." She hugged the twosome she loved so dearly, the only parents she had ever known.

"Your mother and father would be very proud of you, Lydy."
"I know, mom. Thank you." Lydalia gave them one last hug and kiss. "Well, I'm off." She kept the parting short and sweet and set off to find her dormitory.

She quickly found the building she was assigned to and climbed to the second floor to find her room. Upon entering the room, she noticed a girl about her own age already present. "Hi, I'm Lydalia… looks like we'll be roommates, huh?"

The girl turned, looked at Lydalia, and smiled. "Hello," she offered her hand to Lydalia. "I'm Claudia Andes. I was about to go met my brother and some of his friends for lunch. Care to join us? It'll give us a chance to get to know each other, and make a few new friends."

Lydalia threw her belongings on the open bunk and replied, "You don't have to ask me twice, and I'm starving!"

The girls arrived in the busy mess hall and selected their lunches. Claudia scanned the room and pulled Lydalia to a nearby table occupied by a burley looking cadet, a tall skinny fellow, with a red haired girl sitting on his lap, and another intelligent looking cadet.

"Hi everyone, this is my roommate, Lydalia. Lydalia, this is my brother, M…

"Shut up Claude." Interrupted a gruff voice coming from the cadet Claudia was about to introduce. "Andes. You can call me Andes." Something about this guy made Lydalia feel uncomfortable, but she chose to shake it off.

"Eh, good ol' Andes here prefers to go by his last name. Claude gets away with calling him Murray, but I recon that is only because she's family. Anyway, don't mind him, his bark is worse than his bite. He may look a little rough, but he's a good guy overall. I'm Sam. Glad you could join us. This, "indicating the girl on his lap, "is Octavia. She's my lady.

Octavia giggled and extended a hand. The last cadet stood and offered hi own hand. "I'm Toby. So, you're Claudia's roommate? That means you're one of us then, eh?" Seeing that Lydalia clearly didn't understand he continued. "One of the smarties. See, they tend to put those of us with the… why be modest, the 'genius IQ's' together. They figure, and I must say, I agree, that we get along best with our own kind."

"Our own kind… right." Lydalia wasn't sure if she agreed with his elitist attitude but certainly did not want to shut out any potential friends on her first day.

Lydalia took an empty seat and imerssed herself in conversation. After a while she became distracted with watching a pair of cadets goofing off across the mess hall. One was tall, dark hair, athletic build and seemed to be following the lead of the other. He was slightly shorter, stalky build, shaggy hair, and attractive in a more offbeat sort of way. They were loud, obnoxious, and entirely entertaining to Lydalia. "Any of you know who those two are?" Lydalia asked nodding her head in the direction of the pair.

"Nothing but trouble if you ask me." Came Sam's response.

Absolutely, added Toby. "To be precise, they are Michael Threms and Robert Avery. AKA Trip and Rab, Academy hellions. They make it a habit to cause as much trouble around here as possible. Class A jerks destined to clean the commodes of the star ships our kind will one day run." He and the others laughed at the joke. Lydalia, who did not find the humor in it replied, "I think they look like fun."

Claudia looked at her with almost sympathy. "You won't for long. You're not exactly… the type they take to kindly too. You see, practically the whole Threms family has this… thing against Vulcans, and everybody knows how much Robert's mother hates Klingons. Not to make any snap judgments, but, you seem to be a mix of the two, correct?"

"Yeah, Vulcan mother, Klingon father."

"Then take our advice," offered Octavia, "and stay away from them."

"Right. Thanks." Lydalia answered her as she took one last look at the pair, taking notice of how attractive the taller one was, and followed the others out of the cafeteria, and into the courtyard where they sat to continue their conversation and enjoy the sunny weather. Growing tired of the conversation, Lydalia eventually pulled a book from her overstuffed bag. She was too engrossed in the book to notice Trip standing behind her, he grabbed the book out of her hands, and snickered. Lydalia remembered what the others had said about how his family felt about Vulcans, and she was suddenly grateful that she had taken the ponytail out of her hair so that it now more than covered her ears. Before she could protest, Trip spoke.

"If I were you, I'd be careful about who I made friends with. This lot here…they're trouble. Bad influences, bad for your reputation. Hang out with Starfleet nerds and you'll soon realize they are bad for your career and your health as well."

As Trip walked away, Lydalia found herself laughing out loud.

"Don't tell us you actually think that ass is funny, "snorted Andes.

"Yeah, lil bit." She grinned. "Thanks for letting me join you for lunch. It was great meeting all of you, but I really have to go, arrange my room and stuff. ," She smiled warmly at the group. "See you back at the room, Claude."

PostTue Feb 24, 2004 5:12 pm    Chapter 2

OK here's more of Lyd's story:)

Lydalia worked busily at setting up her half of the room. Annoyed with the stuffiness that filled the air, she went to open the window. It was stuck so she had to force it open, causing it to come apart from the track. "DAMN!" She swung her leg out the window and contorted her body into an awkward angle as she tried to fix it. She was practically hanging completely outside the window, barely holding on, as she spat out several colorful words and phrases. From bellow, she heard a loud, "OY! If you want to go climbing, try a holoprogram, it's a lot safer!" The voice scared Lydalia, and as she turned to see who was yelling, she lost her grip, and fell. shouting profanities as she did. Trip, as luck would have it, was quick on his feet, and managed to catch her. Or break her fall, rather, as she actually fell on him, causing them both to take a tumble.

"Well, I've never had a girl fall for me this quickly, " laughed Trip.
Lydalia, letting her Klingon temper get the best of her, punched him hard on the chest. "Jerk! What the hell? Why did you holler like that? You could have gotten me killed, you *beep*." She jumped to her feet and as Trip stood up, she pushed him back down, hard.

"OY! What's the bloody deal? I caught you, didn't I? It's certainly not my fault you didn't hold on. In fact, I probably just saved your life." He stood and brushed himself off.

"I wouldn't have fallen if you hadn't of bellowed at me like that, you…" She went at him again, punches flying.

"Easy there, Sunshine! You pack quite a punch." He grabbed her wrists and pulled her arms behind her back, as he chuckled watching her struggle for a while. "Gotcha. Look, I'm sorry I scarred you, awright? I didn't mean to make you fall. Also, seriously, watch out for that lot you were with earlier. That Andes bloke is a real arse."

Considerably calmer than she was, Lydalia wrenched her way out of Trips hold. "Thanks for the warning." She started to walk away but instead turned back to him, "and for saving my life. But," she crossed to him, grabbed his shirt collar in her fists, and pulled him in so his face was inches from hers. "Don't you ever, call me Sunshine again. Got it?" She glared at him a moment longer, before pushing him away with great force.

A mischievous grin came over his face as he answered, "Right, I got it." Hey, my roommate and I are hosting a little shindig tonight. That building," he pointed to a building across the way, "room 319. Come by, I'll introduce you to some DECENT blokes, awight?"

"Yeah…yeah, maybe I will thanks."
Trip nodded, "See you later then, " he leaned in close to her and almost whispered, "Sunshine," and scampered off before she could react,

*****

"You have got to be kidding me, are you seriously considering going to that party?"

"I'm more than considering it, Claudia. I'm going. What's the big deal? We're young, we're supposed to go to parties and meet people."

"Lydalia, there are plenty of other parties to go to. Why this one? We told you those two are jerks. They hang out with… It's not a good crowd."

"Meaning, because they are not geniuses like us, they aren't as good as we are, right?"

Declining to answer directly Claudia warned, "They'll lead you into trouble."

"Great, sounds like fun. " Lydalia laughed and looked at her new roommate. So, I take it you won't be joining me?"

Her answer was apparent as Claudia picked up a book and sat back on her bunk, "Try to be careful, Lydalia."

"Try to have FUN, Claudia." Lydalia left the room with the cool tension growing between herself and her roommate.

*****

Lydalia walked across campus breathing in the fresh, brisk air. As she reached the building Trip had pointed out, she could already hear the music thumping. She took a deep breath and prepared to enter the building, having no idea of the adventure she was about to embark upon. She pulled the door open and climbed to the third floor.

"OY! Sunshine, in here." Lydalia felt Trip pull her through the doorway he was standing in. "I'd like you to meet my best mate, and roommate, Rab." Lydalia felt her breath catch as she found herself face to face with Rab, who in her opinion, was even better looking up close.

Rab studied her for a moment before bursting into raucous laughter. "This is THE Sunshine? SHE's the one that did that to you?"

Lydalia looked at Trip and noticed he had a swollen lip and a black eye. "Don't tell me I…"

"Roughed up his ugly mug? Apparently so, only the way he told it, you were a big ol' ugly brute of a thing, heheheh."

"Excuse me?" Lydalia demanded as she rounded abruptly on Trip.

"The way I see it though, " Rab continued hardly noticing she looked like she was going to pounce, "you're such a scrawny little bit of a thing, my kid sister could take you on. If you hadn't of deliberately jumped out of the window at him, I don't think you'd of stood a chance."

Furious, Lydalia turned on Rab. "I'll have you know I did NOT JUMP! He shouted at me, and MADE me fall!" She was now in his face in a state of rage. "I could take on both of you AND your kid sister, and still come out in better shape than you!"

A broad grin spread across Rab's face. "Feisty! I like it. You're right, Trip, she IS fun to rile up, good call."

"Told you she's scrappy mate." They both fell into a fit of laughter.

Realizing they were just trying to get a rise out of her, purely for their own amusement, Lydalia spat out several abusive names at them, and reeled her arm back to take a swing at Rabs face, making contact with his nose.

This sent him into further hysterics as his hand went to his now bloody nose. Well, I can certainly see how, 'Sunshine,' is an appropriate name for her. Damn, I think you broke it. What's me ma going to say?" He crossed to the sink to clean himself up.

"Don't call me, 'Sunsh…"

"Sunshine, " piped in Trip who had been watching with amusement, "yeah, I think it's going to stick. But look here, SUNSHINE, if you're going to be friends with Rab and I; you've really got to watch that temper of yours. See, we make it a rule never to hit a girl, but you keep it up and we might just have to amend that one a bit.

"Friends? You think I actually want to be friends with you morons?"

Rab, who was now holding a towel to his nose, returned and draped an arm casually around her shoulder. "We're certainly a lot more entertaining than that lot you were having lunch with. Choice is yours to make. Chess parties with Starfleet nerds, or you come into the other room with us for a real party, and admit you're destined to buddy up with Trip and I. Sunshine." With that the guys disappeared into the crowd of the party.

Lydalia stood in place for a moment before calling out, "I told you not to call me, 'Sunshine,'" and followed them with a slight grin on her face.

PostWed Feb 25, 2004 2:52 pm    Three years later...

Ok, everyone. This chapter is WAY out of order... it happens Lyd's third year, Trip, Tiam, and Rab's fourth year. I just have been kinda writting things as they come to me. I'll get it all in order eventually but for now enjoy.

The three friends sat along the cool stone wall enjoying the warm night air. Rab was the first to speak, “What do you two want to do tonight? It’s a gorgeous night, perfect for a little hell raising.”
“Brownies…”Came Lydalia’s answer.
“Brilliant! Your brownies are the best ever, Lyd!”
Lydalia laughed, “Thanks, buddy, but if you eat that… I think you’ll change your mind.”
Rab cocked an eyebrow and returned the brownie.
“Aww… you’re to bloody nice, Lyd. You shoulda let him eat it!” Complained Trip. “Spill it, what did you put in them?”
She looked mischievous as she answered. “Laxatives. Who’s our first victim?”
Rab gave her a disapproving look. “That’s evil, Lyd.”
“Come off it, Rab, you’re just jealous that you didn’t think of it first.”
“How about that bloke over there?” Trip asked pointing out a handsome cadet sitting alone under a tree.
Rab looked over and immediately shook his head. “No. Not him. That’s that Paris fella. Word has it his lady love was killed recently.”
“Gotcha, mate. He’s off limits.” Trip agreed as a smirk crossed his face. “Besides, look at the way Lyd’s looking at him. I recon she fancies him.”
“Do not!” She retorted, “Just understand where he’s coming from is all. I’ll be right back.” With that, she jumped off the wall and walked briskly to the cadet.
“Hey. Look, I know we don’t know each other or anything, and, uh…, I’m sure the last thing you want to hear is strangers telling you they’re sorry for your loss and crap like that… Well.. The thing is, I believe that people who have suffered the loss of loved ones, should… I don’t know… support each other or something… What I mean to say is, see that star, the one that’s kinda off by itself and a little brighter than the others? Whenever I find myself really wishing I could be with my folks, I imagine they’re there, on that star watching over me, and it always sorta comforts me. You, uh, well, you can borrow it anytime. Maybe your girlfriend is there too, with my parents, ya know?” Lydalia attempted a smile and suddenly wished she could crawl in a hole, as he stared blankly at her, while biting his lower lip. “I…I know it’s kinda cheesy… I just thought maybe…”

The cadet cleared his throat and spoke for the first time. “ Maybe it is a little cheesy, but it’s nice too. Thanks, Girl.” And he returned her smile.
The moment was broken by Trip shouting, “OY! Sunshine! Stop flirting with that guy, will ya? You know bloody well you’re OUR girl! Get your arse back over here!”

“See ya then.” Lydalia, blushing slightly, nodded to the cadet and turned to leave. “Oh,” Turning back to him, “Don’t eat any brownies for a while. Trust me.”
“Right.” He replied as he leaned back against his tree again, and Lydalia ran off to rejoin the guys.
“You stupid gits! How many times do I have to tell you not to call me sunshine?!?!”

They laughed at her, “Aw come on, you know you love it.”
“What’s the matter, did we embarrass you in front of your future love?” Teased Rab.

“Shut it! My future love, right! I can see it now; my words will comfort and stay with him always. Years from now, fate will have us working on the same starship, where our paths will cross again. One day, he’ll suddenly make the connection, that I am the mystery girl who spoke to him so many years before, and he’ll realize that he has to spend the rest of his life with me by his side. PLEASE!!!”

“You never know,” chortled Rab, “it could happen.”

“With you two morons around, I’ll be lucky to ever get a date!”

“That’s because you’re OUR girl, Lyd. These other clowns just aren’t good enough for you.” Rab said sincerely.

Lydalia laughed, “Sure, I’m YOUR girl, that’s why you both spend all your time chasing after as many girls as you can, right?”

“Right!” Trip beamed, “Thanks for the reminder!!” And the two of them ran off to join a group of first year girls.

Lydalia glared at the girl Rab had draped his arm around, as she sat down on a nearby bench.

“Give it up, he’s never going to go for someone like you, and you know it.” The gruff voice came from behind her, before Andes took a seat beside her. “Why don’t you forget about that jerk off and give someone who appreciates you a chance?”

“Leave me alone, Andes.”

“Oh come on,” he inched closer to her and placed and arm tightly around her middle, “you need a guy who recognizes you for what you are. You charm, your wit, your, IQ, your beauty, as well as all your other… assets.” He said all this as he caressed her hair and face with his big awkward hand, and looked her up and down in a “I’m picturing you naked,” sort of way.

“Get off me, Andes!”

“Aw come on, Lyd… stop playing hard to get. You know you and I would be good together.” He leaned in and tried to kiss her, as she dodged her head out of the way.

“I believe the lady told you to leave her alone,” Rabs voice cut quickly and angrily.

“I can handle this, guys.” Lydalia spoke up, but was silently grateful for their presence.

“Hey,” Andes spoke as he stood, towering almost a foot over Rab, “I’m not here to start trouble. It’s not my fault if the two of you are too caught up in chasing freshman floozies to notice she’s become a fine piece of,”

Rab broke off his sentence, “Get out of here. If you ever bother Lyd again, I will personally see to it that you leave this place in a body bag.” No one had ever seen Rab more threatening or serious, and Trip and Lyd dare not speak as they watched they’re friend in awe. “I mean it, Andes, now, GO!”

As Rab shook with anger, Andes watched for a second before he turned and half ran half walked towards the science building.

After standing in awed silence for a few more moments, Lydalia finally spoke up, “Thanks.”
It seemed meager but it was all she could muster out.

“Where the bloody hell did that come from, mate? I didn’t know you had it in you.” Trip stared at his friend with a mix of bewilderment, admiration, and pride.

Rab smiled as he looked into Lydalia’s eyes. “Like I said before Lyd, you MY girl. Or, I mean, OUR girl. You’re our girl. I’ll always protect you.”

Lydalia felt her heart sore as he looked into her eyes and said such wonderful things. Especially when He almost called her HIS girl. She could feel her face burning, and not wanting them to see it, she pretended she had forgotten something in her room. “I’ll catch up with you two later. I have to go get my… something.” She ran off still grinning ear-to-ear as she remembered Rabs words, “Lyd, you’re MY girl.”

Lydalia breathless from running all the way home, flung open her door, and sunk against the wall donning a smile she couldn't wipe from her face if her life depended on it.

"What's up with you?" Claudia asked though she hardly looked interested in the answer as she barely looked up from the book she was reading.

:"OH, Claude, Claude, Claude! I am on top of the world right now; I doubt even your cynicism could bring me down." She sat on the end of her roommates bed and leaned over her, However, I really don't want to give you the chance to try." She stood, walked to her own bed, let herself fall onto it, and grabbed her computer to put a call through to her parents.

Claudia watched her and shook her head. The two girls, though never quite forming a bond of friendship, had found a mutual respect and tolerance for one another, and had remained roommates since their first year at the academy.

*****

After her call, Lydalia set out to meet the guys by the campus fountain; they're usual meeting spot. Just as she rounded the corner leading away from her building, she bumped into Rab. "Rab. Hey, sorry… Am something or I late? I figured we'd meet in the usual spot.

"No, you're not late, I'm early. I came to find you. I want to talk to you about something." He led her over to a bench looking very nervous.

"What's up, everything OK?" Lydalia looked at him with sincere concern.

"You know I hate Andes. We all do...he's a git… but he's right about something. Lydalia… Sunshine… Lyd, This... is uhm… don't punch me or anything, please… Don't know how I'd tell me mam you broke my nose again… No, I don't want to talk about her right now. What? Stop laughing at me, you're not helping."

Lydalia was shaking with laughter at her friend. "Sorry, buddy but I've just never seen you this nervous. Don't tell me you're failing a class again? You know I'll help you, no need to be nervous for something like that, so what is it? You crazy Scottish freak."

"Damn it Lyd! It's just that, I think you are the most amazingly and beautiful woman I have ever seen. I suppose I've thought so for a long time now but, watching Andes put a move on you, it just made something inside of me snap, and I want nothing more than to grab you and kiss you right now."

"OK."
"What?"
"OK"
"OK what?"
"OK you can."
"What?"
"Kiss me."
"No."
"What?"
"No."
"No what?"
"No I can't."
"What?"
"Kiss you."
"Why?"
"What"
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why can't you?"
"What?"
"Kiss me!"

"Because."
"What?"
"Because."
"Bec… NO! We are not starting this again! Did you even mean what you said before? What is this some sort of prank you two set up? One of your bets? Let's see who can get Lyd to punch us first. Cuz if it is, let me tell you, you're about to win!

Rab took a deep breath before answering, "Yes, no, yes, and not exactly."

"What?"

"Yes I meant what I said before, every word. No, this is not a prank. Yes it was a bet, but not exactly what you think." He bent over himself with his head in his hands, and ran his fingers through his hair, tugging at the ends. "OK. I know I'm probably going to get myself a re-broken nose, or a black eye or something, but here goes. That thing with Andes, got Trip and I to talking about how you actually are a girl... like a real one... and he sorta came up with this bet on which one of us could get you to kiss us first. Well, I agreed, but then I got to thinking… and the though of him getting to you first, just, really bothered me. Not because it means he's of won, I don't care about that. It would bother me because it would be him kissing you, not me, and I just can't stand the thought of that. What I'm trying to say is, I meant everything I said and I want to kiss you more than I want to take my next breath but I couldn't do it without telling you the whole truth first. Go ahead and hit me, I know I deserve it."

"No."
"What?"
"No."
"No what?"
"No I won't"
"Won't what?"
"Hit you."
"Good."
"What?"
They both laughed until he looked deeply in her eyes, and they seemed to be paralyzed Slowly, he moved in to her, taking her face gently in one hand to guide her lips to his. When the moment was broken moments later, she looked at him smiling, "So, what did you win?"

"A date with you, if I'm lucky."

"That can be arranged, but what do you win from Trip? Or should I say, what do WE win? You know you're splitting whatever it is with me."

"I wouldn't have it any other way, but I should warn you, the prize was doing the others homework for the next month."

Lydalia rolled her eyes and laughed. "So in other words, I'll STILL be doing everyone's homework? Why would you bet that when you know I do all of it anyway?"

"We thought we'd give you a break, since, you know, since we were betting about you…"

"About that, if you ever,"

He took her hand in his and grinned. "You don't have to say it, it won't ever happen again. So let's go meet up with Trip, so we can ditch him early and start our first date."

"In a second." It was her turn to lean into him for a long awaited deeply passionate kiss.

Yes, I know the one word back and forth is a bit confusing... it's meant to be a very quick back and forth thing... It would be very funny read out loud by two people. I just didn't want to write out "Rab said" "Lyd said" everytime:)

Nooooo, I loved that part! I imagined it in my head just as you said, But reading this one along with Cappy D's is slightly confusing, as was the jump to the future. Are you going to continue that storyline now, or randomly jump about?

AHHHH!!! Cool. Well, ask any questions.. PLEAESE! We both want to know anything that is confusing. I'm sorta writting what comes to me... I've gone back to the first year for now... I had to write the future chapter to make it work with another storyline... that someone else is writting. From playing on the Skyline RPG, I have several monumental events that took place, so those naturally are the easiest to write. So basically... I'll probably do a lot of back and forht, but will get it all straigh asap... again, please ask any questions you may have.

Mostly it just means I have to quickly look back at the previous chapter when I read a new installment, so I know which storyline I'm on. Like Cappy D's story before, I couldn't remember why Rab was hitting Trip (that's right, isn't it?), but after a quick look back and I remembered all about the Tribble plot,

Ahhhhh... I see!

BTW... I forgot to put this at the top.... These stories are dedicated to Captain Dappet, Triam Paris, and of course Lyd, Trip, Triam, and Esp. Rab...wherever he may be...

PostMon Mar 01, 2004 3:29 pm    Chapter two... or something of the like I suppose!

Ok here's the next part of the beginning of the story. It's not that confusing, just know that the chapter I posted before this, won't acctually happen for about two more years. This chapter is still Lyd's first year, and Trip and Rab's second year.

In the following weeks, one of the three could rarely be found without one, if not both, of the other two. The bond of friendship between Lydalia and the guys was formed quickly and tightly. On any given day, the threesome was sure to be wreaking havoc of some kind wherever they went. They were always careful not to ever put anyone in serious danger, or to cause too much destruction, but were certainly no strangers to trouble. Trip, being the most adventurous, was the friend most often behind their wildest schemes. Rab, the most cautious, was the one to make sure none of their pranks were ever taken too far. Lydalia, being the brains of the group, was the one to make sure every detail of their adventures, was planned out perfectly to go off without a hitch. Together, they made the perfect trio of trouble, and perhaps the worst the academy had ever seen.

On this particular day, the friends had decided to skip classes for the day and could be found sharing a pitcher of Romulan Ale at their favorite caf in the area appropriately named, "The Caf." Lydalia sighed heavily and looked at her two friends. "I can't believe you two talked me into skipping classes. AGAIN!"

Rab rolled his eyes in reply. "Lyd, you're a frikin' genius, you know no matter how many times you've skipped a class, you always get top marks in everything with very little effort. What's the big deal, you'll do fine as always. You've got nothing to worry about."

"I've got you two to worry about, haven't I? Now, not only will I have to make up the work I missed today, I'm going to have to do all of the makeup work for you two as well."

Rab shook his head. "Naw. Don't worry about it Sunshine, you won't have to do our homework for us. We can manage it ourselves. Eventually, we'll muddle through all of it. Of course, we'll probably fail miserably, but just as long as you're OK with having that responsibility on your shoulders for the rest of your life, you never have to help your two best friends in the whole universe ever again."

The guys looked at Lydalia with their best sad puppy looks, as she groaned at them. "You two are pathetic, you do know that, don't you?" She kept them at bay for another moment before laughing at them. "Oh come on, you know I'll always help you guys, don't give me those looks."

Trip grinned broadly. "Good. Now that that's settled, get up to the counter and get us another pitcher, Sunshine!"

"Oh no! Not this time. Rab's the one with the huge monthly allowance from mommy dearest. He can pay."

As Rab stood to cross to the counter, he responded, "Let's leave the fact that you and me mam hate each other out of this, OK?"

Lydalia watched him walk away before turning back to Trip. "What does he mean, 'hate each other?' When did I ever say I hate her? She's the one with the prejudice against me for being Klingon!"

Trip looked across the table at her and gave her a sympathetic look as he patted her hand. "I know, Lyd, but give the guy a break, eh? It's his mom that hates the ridges on your forehead, not him."

Lydalia looked as if she were about to retort as Rab returned with a fresh pitcher. "So what's the plan for the day? No need to waste a perfectly good day off is there?"

"One step ahead of you, Mate" Trip stated with a broad grin. "I figure it's been a while since the engineering nerds have had any excitement in their lives. Perhaps they wouldn't always be so uptight if they had a day off. They might even be grateful to be smoked out of their building. What do you think?"

"Keep talking, we're listening." Answered Rab as he and Lydalia leaned their heads into Trips to discuss the details.

A pitcher later, they seemed to be happy with the plan. "So you both are clear on everything, right?" Lydalia asked the question for the third time.

"Yes, Lyd, " sighed Trip. "We're clear. So let's go do what we've each got to do, and meet in the usual spot in say 20 minuets? " With that, the three friends sprinted off in separate directions to prepare for their latest prank.

I'll have more soon, I hope, just wanted to post what I have so far.
