The Bible says that a person is a Christian when they speak with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that He rose from the dead. Anyone who believes this, has accepted God's forgiveness, and acknowledges Jesus as their Lord is a Christian. BTW, this is not just my oppinion, it's Biblical

I suppose you could answer too?
All I was doing make a little joke that's supposed to make you think that for many people being a Christian can actually mean something else than to yourself. *edit*

Being a Christian in my view is someone who loves Jesus with all their heart and wants to follow him. Dirk, you were saying about the contadictions in some people's belief. Quite a lot of bad things are done under the name of "religion". As some people accept it and say God told them to, it doesn't really mean they are truely religious. I could go out and kill someone and then say I am a Buddist for examle. Just saying that in a number of cases people aren't truely into religion but say they are to try and validate things.

According to Kierkengaard, though, to be religious is the highest point of existence. You're truely religious if you would sacrifice yourself for God, or whatever god you prayed to. Therefore in the Christian faith, the only man who was ever truely religious was Jesus Christ.
Then we have those fellows who came over and bombed realization back into the US. They did that for their god. I don't know about you, but I can't judge them for that. Sure, I think they're burning in hell for it, but you can't (well, shouldn't) judge someone by their religious beliefs. They were doing what their god told them to and I think we should at least accept it. We don't have to believe, but accepptance is a virtue.
Now the big question comes in how to relate being truely religious to being a Christian. We've got Abraham who was told by God to sacrifice his only son and he went about it without question. God saved Abraham's son at the alter because of Abraham's unfailing religion.
Now, if you yourself (lets say I am addressing a person who defines themself as a Christian) were told by God to kill your mother, what would you do? I've been argued against the God wouldn't do that, but say he did. Could you define yourself as a Christian anymore if you blatenly defied the word of God for your own "selfish" reasons and did not kill your mother?
If you did in fact kill her, how would society view you? They would view you like we do those men who took down the WTC. All I'm saying is, it's all relative. Hard to define

I don't judge other people beliefs, they do not answer to me but to God in the end so I can not really judge them cause there is only one judge and that is God himself. I can repect other people beliefs long as I get repected for mine. Who am I to judge them. THey don't answer to me.

Sorry about that. I worded the statement wrongly. I meant someone could do something and blame a religion, but not actually be a part of that religion. Also they might actually be a member of that religion but over time humans have changed the view of what their "God" or gods said. For example the world is the 3rd planet away from the sun, but the church in the midle ages said it wasn't . It says nothing about it about it in the bible but was accepted by the church at the time as fact.

Actually the Holy Qur'an teaches all Muslims to respect other Religions and not to force Islam onto others, 3 of the World's Oldest Churches are in Countries governed by Islamic Law and they have not been destroyed and converted. The Christians and Jews are seen as Children of Allah to Muslims too, however Islam teaches that the Torah and New Testament are among many of the Books corrupted by Man and that the Holy Qur'an is the Book of Truth. However you get a Religion in America called Farrakhanism that claims to be Islam and preaches anti-Semite, Anti-Christian and Anti-White Science.
