I was a huge fan even back when the only people that talked about LOTR were spotty D&D geeks.
OK, so I was one of them

Gondor! Gondor, between the mountains and the sea
West wind blew there; the light upon the Silver Tree
Fell like bright rain in the gardens of the Kings of old
O proud walls! White towers! O winged crown and throne of gold...

I own all Tolkien's Books, I speak Elvish, Have Posters of All characters, Drawn every weapon, race and character, I have all the movies (Both Extended and regular, (And I do Mean ALL! RoTK burned onto a DVD from Online, Good Quality too!))
I even have and Elvish and Hobbit name. Got to love those name generators! |
Wow, I bow to your superior LotR fan-ness. You must teach me Elvish or give me the sites and names of books that you used to make you know the entirety of Elvish. And will you give me the site off of which you burned RotK? *snicker snicker* That idea really appeals to me. I am huge fan of LotR. Just look at my username. I would really like to have you as a mentor or something to gaining superior Tolkien fanatic-ness. Oh-ho-ho that would be so awesome.

"Three Rings for the Elven Kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf Lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie."
I love the movies, but I can't stand the books...But I guess you might consider me a fan.

Ash nazg durbatuluk. Ash nazg gimbatul. Ash nazg thrakatuluk augh burzum ishi krimpatul.
That was purely from memory (I hope I spelled everything right)
How can you not understand the books? Oh... well... I suppose they are a little hard to understand.

I said I can't stand the books, not that I can't understand them. I find them really boring.

Oh, okay. I think I turned temporarily dislexic when I read your post. I thought it said you didn't understand it. Oh, well. If you read past all of the extensive descriptions that Tolkien provides in the books, it's not that boring.
