Ok, I know the movie is not out yet but still, they are talking about it enough. Anyway, if anyone has seen an early release please post what you thought about it. If you have anything else to say, go on and get it posted too. Lets keep this a little nicer than some other controversial topics eh?

I am so going to see this. Mel Gibson is a devout Catholic, I doubt he's going to do anything obscene.

People need to lighten up. Gibson talked to hundreds of clerics/rabbis/historians, etc... He did the best he could.

People didn't accept Jesus Chirst Superstar at first by Andrew Lloyd Webber, but look at the hit that turned out to be.

Aaron, I love the chick in your avatar. Who is she?
Many of the top Hollywood brass feel that the movie will generate a negative backlash that will end Gibson's career and anyone else who decides to make a movie with him.
This certainly isn't the first time an immensely controversial movie appears, but its, in my opinion, the first time a movie is released that provokes and speaks such magnitudes that it can very well shake the very core of an entire religion, society, and culture.
If history remembers anything of Mel Gibson, it will be that he brought a powerful view of who really crucified Jesus.

Yes, because he died to save all of us from our sins, and if no one sinned, he would not have had to die for us. Therefore, it was all of us who killed him.

Yeah, but the contreversy is that it was technically the Jews who hung the man Jesus on the cross. And who runs Hollywood? Not to be rude, but it's mostly Jews.

You might want to go easy with those opinions.

I do not mean to offend anyone, however in this topic I will say exactly what I beleive, and will not alter it to please anyone, or to avoid making people unhappy or angry with me.

Even if it was technically Jewish people that crucified Jesus, and I am sure there were many involved, that was probably about 1000 Jews, that lived 2000 years ago. I do not meen to offend anyone again, however, the Jewish community seems to always be unnecessarily defensive sometimes, not that you can blame them, but still.
++
I was enlightened to find out it was mostly people of Jewish faith that ran Hollywood.

I am Catholic, however I do not hold anything against people of the Jewish faith, or of any other faith, nor do I condemn anyone. If anything I have said, or ever do say, has made it sound like this, it was not meant to.

It seems like the movie is going to be a huge hit, as people will go to see what all the talk is about. If there is any film on a major religion then it will be controversial as different people have different views, so some that one group think is right, others will diagree with.

Nobody killed Jesus, man. HE still lives!! In God and through the Holy Spirit in us!
Anyway, I think this movie will be awesome too, a ground breaker... finally someone is not afraid to the the story. Even if the story may not be portrayed in "the right light" for certain people or certain faiths, it's still a giant step in bringing the Lord to the hearts of the world, and even just letting people know the story.
If we look at the Bible through another viewpoint, as a myth, of which it is the greatest, this movie will definatly top LotR and Star Wars in the "epic film" genre too. Just MHO

Ya, guess I should reword that one. He was crucified in the flesh and rose again to fulfill the scriptures.
