That dosn't sound like a very medicinal term  They probably wanted to study it, not really do an autopsy per se

There was a video running around about some guys in Oregon blowing up a dead beached whale.
To make a long story short, they used so much dynamite that the guts spread out in a radius of nearly a quarter of a mile.
It was raining blubber. Literally!

The reason they wanted to do an autopsy was because Spearm Whales aren't really around that area so they wanna get some idea why it was there. Duh
That poor whale  . I wonder what it was thinking before it died.

The whale was probably thinking about how dry it was, and how much it needed a drink, not to mention sunblock, Who knows what whales think anyway?

And the passerby's were thinking,
"It's raining blood and guts! Where's George Bush!?"
