when was ds9 filmed cus' it has next generation characters in.... voyager was docked there before they left and got lost in the delta quadrant , but they have the newest uniforms (grey ones) ........ so i cnt figure out when it was filmed !

Deep Space 9 started in January of 1993 and contiuned until June of 1999. And they switched uniforms in the middle of the series from the voyager ones to the new grey ones.

O'Brien and Worf were just carried over, no real special reason. Probably to attract viewers?
The Dominion was basically trying to take over the Alpha Quadrant. With the Federation out of the way, they would be the most powerful force.
