I'm on the National Organ Donor's list and also carry a donor's card So yes
I'll also be giving blood in 8 months time, and will be putting myself on the bone marrow donor's list (I have to wait till Sammie's 9 months old).

Sure! I gave away my heart, my brain, my liver, my stomach, my intestines, and both my kidneys the same day. Came out feeling much lighter!

I'm not. I dunno... partially, I don't want to loose my organs. But hey, they're just gunna decay anyways, right? So what's the difference? but I've heard stories where if someone is a donor and they're injured, the doctors might not try as hard to save their life so they can get the organs I mean, that probably doesn't happen, but I would want everything done to save me, yano? I mean, if I'm on life support for 3 years or whatever, sure, take me off. But if it's only been a short time and they want to take me off to harvest my organs? Erm, NO! So yeah, I may become one someday, but as of now, I'm not.

I can't see that as being true but then again who knows.
When I filled in my Driving License, I ticked that I wanted rid of my organs. If I snuff it that is. Well I'm not gonna be needing them then am I???!

^Exactly. And C99, if your heart starts to fail, make sure you don't let your family put you on the donor recipient list. I'd hate to have selfishness benefit from selflessness.

Precisely, as T said. What exactly are your organs going to do for you when you're dead? Face it, we all die, we all make our maker, etc. And it's not like your body would retain perfect shape if you didn't donate an organ. They're just going to be eaten out by slugs then. Might as well give to someone who can actually benefit from their use, instead of providing food to fat bugs. >.<

I think it's a scary thought that your organs are cut out after you die
I wouldn't mind giving blood though.

I will definatly be an organ donor when I get my liceans. What the hell am I gonna nead them for when I die? If someone really needed them now I would give all of my spare parts, even if I didn't know them. It really makes me feel good when I know that I am halping people and making a difference in someones life.

Okay here is a way to look at it. Lets say your laying brain dead in a hospital. You are not an organ doner or you have not said you were or not. A little girl/boy comes in with the same blood type as you (say she/he is between 10 or 15) she/he is dieing and will soon pass unless she/he gets that organ. Your the only person in the hospital who can give them b/c your pretty much dead anyways...with out it she/he dies and your dieing either way b/c you as said Brain Dead.
Would you want to keep your organs which you don't need anyways and let that child who has barely begun to live life DIE!? Or would you want your organ that that child needs given to him/her?
I would most defently GIVE my organs for that child no questions asked.
