People.com said that Spears and Alexander, also 22, travelled to the wedding chapel after partying at Ghostbar, a club in the Palms Casino Hotel.
The chapel staff told the couple they could not get married without a licence, so they were taken by limo to the Las Vegas courthouse.
They were granted the licence and wed back at the chapel.
Little is known about Alexander. A source says that he and Spears were childhood friends who recently hooked up and had spent New Year's Eve together.
Spears fourth album "In the Zone" debuted at the top of the album charts in November. She begins a concert tour on March 2 in San Diego.

I heard on the news this morning, that Spears is getting the marriage annulled, too. I don't know how true it is.
To tell the truth... I don't really care... and I don't know why I even posted this.

If it did happen, then why are all news reporters and radio DJ's saying that it's just a joke?

I was watching this subject about Spears on the news, and they showed her in a concert.
She doesn't look much different than a stripper in the way she flaunts herself. The only difference is that she does her own music.

Some sources say it was a joke, others say it was because they didn't now enough about each other and other sources say it was because she was drunk. Anyway, it never happened officially now.

Geez, does Brittany Spears have to destroy every guy she has been in love with at one point.
I wish she would just make up her mind, and stay outta the press about this kind of thing. Its quite insulting to people who take there marrages seariously.

I heard on a news channels (CNN I think) that they weren't drunk and that it was a joke that went to far.

Who was the joke supposed to be on anyway? I guess it is on her, I guees she will do any thing to stay in the headlines. I guess she likes the attention, no matter good or bad.
