If you wanna know what Trek is about, watch TNG and DS9.

I have seen some TNG episodes ( my friend recorded practically all of them) that is a really good series and is my second favorite.

As for DS9 I may have just caught some bad episodes, but I couldn't stand it

Alright if you wan to learn about trek watch Voyager because that is the most amazingly best show ever. or you can just go to google search and look stuff up and thats what I did to get to know star trek. And one more thing ask any old person they practically all like star trek.

Watching TNG will probably be the most helpful in getting to know starfleet and the federation and the main alien species and how it all works... with voyager you probably wouldn't get the whole story on the federation. Although it's my favorite, it'd probably be the least helpful in getting to know overall how that kind of stuff works

I think she should start on TNG, it's like when you want to start riding a bike, you start with training wheels. Don't get me wrong, I love TNG, but Voyager could be confusing to someone new to trek.

Same here. Contrary to popular belief (and my avatar), I practically got addicted to Trek *because* of Voyager. And I did all right. I know the basics of the Federation, it's enemies, etc.

And TNG isn't slow, Intrepid... you're too fast.
