It WAS one of three... and probably the biggest.
Deny it if you wish, but the WMD ploy was just Bush trying to get support from the heartless. Saddam was a WMD.

Where I live, the Democrat voters that I work with don't like the arrest, 'cuz it makes Bush look good and they don't wanna see him reelected.
Saddam Hussein getting caught is good for everyone... even good for the Democrats and some don't even know it... or maybe some just won't admit it.
This catch is so cool! It's good for the world!
I had heard at the beginning of the war from an Iraqi scientist... he said that there were WMD, but they were destroyed just before the attack.
Maybe, we'll get answers from Hussein, now that's he's spilling his guts, trying not to get the death sentence.

It's about time we caught his a$$. Just goes to show you, You can run if you want, but we're gonna catch your a*s no matter what.
Now.. How should we get rid of him?
Lets let his people decide, I know they want revenge for what he did to many of their families.

Yes, but showing the medical photos and calling him coward, and overall humiliating him is illegal according to the Laws of War if Im not mistaken.
I do know that showing the medical photos is illegal, if he didnt approve, that is.

It is illegal if the government does that. Dan Rather called him a coward. And he is a coward. Besides, the "medical" photos can be called "identification" photos, because that is mainly what they were checking when checking his teeth. But I have no doubt they told him it was all being taped, because no one is going to take the risk of a mistrial in any circumstance.

Yay... good news at last... I think we needed it
Although I still disagree with the war, since it's happened and you can't change the past this is the best news Bush and Blair could have had.
I hope that it means there will be less killings in Iraq now, and that things can get into some sort of normality for the Iraqi people.

Can you tell me what exactly it is you disagree with? I mean, these people wanted SH et al gone, but hadn't the means to do it themselves. The UN promised to take care of the Iraqi people after the war in 2001, and didn't do so. The UN promised to make SH et al abide by their terms of surrender, again, they did not do so.
Bush and Blair said enough. Bush had the proper motivation to go after SH. What was it? 20+ times he defied the UN? (SH), and the UN backed down? Hell, the UN even put Iraq in charge of humanitarian issues.
Bush and Blair didn't take any *beep* from anyone, and did what needed to be done. Yes, there were civilian lives lost, and yes soldiers are still being lost today. That is war. The other choice is that SH is still in power, his sons and staff, and himself, are killing random people at will, the Kurds are still oppressed, etc...
Yes, the main reason given was because of WMD, which it still has not been proven if they do or do not exist. SH is currently telling his interrogators that they do not, but he also told the Iraqi's to stand up to the "evil Americans" and to "fight to the death", when he himself kept his loaded pistol in his pocket and hid in a hole in the ground. His own guards abandoned him.

I'm not sure why most europeans are against the war. It seems that it was because we were told that it was weapons of mass destruction, so they are annoyed as they haven't been found. For some reason they don't care about the other reasons, but say they were right, but we still shouldn't have. What I don't get is why everyone says it was good that we got him out, but it was us that put him, and others like Bin Laden there in the first place. A) We weren't to know what he would do. B) The PM and presidents were all different then, so there's no point in making it sound like it was Tony Blair etc. C) The world situation was completely different then. The cold war was still going on, and so the main threat was communism. If we trained people to fight against them well then it would cut down our own causulties. Also the main treat was nuclear, rather than terrorists, so our military was aimed at combating that, rather than Terrorists. From hindsight it would have been better if we had not, but it was not known this would happen, and also we can't change it now.

Geneva convention does'nt apply to Iraq now. It has no stable government, so therefore it has not entered into the convention. That is why anything goes there right now. THAT is why we should try him there.

It's great that they've finally caught Hussein. Too bad, he'll probably live unlike all those US-Coalition soldiers, Iraqi soldiers, and innocent civilians.
