The past: Kinda cheesy, but everyone should see it at least once.
The present: Eh. I'll watch it, but I'm not getting my hopes up. The one thing its got going for it is Ron Moore.

Yea, it looked quite up to par when I saw a preview for it. I'll hafta at least tune in and see if it meets my expectations. One thing I'm looking forward to is badass chicks in the cockpit. It's about time.

Well, tomorrow's the day. We'll finally be able to see whether this is another Battlestar Galactica, another Galactica 1980, or something completely different.

Oh Man, you had to mention the G******* 1980 didn't you
I was hoping to push that Massacre of a Once Good concept into the unreachable depths of my brain

Hmm.
Overall, I liked it. It wasn't much like the old Battlestar, but as its own thing, it worked quite well.

^The first hour was rather slow. Mostly set-up.
Hours 2-4 were much better. Give it another shot on Sunday.
I'd say yes, its worth watching. Given the high ratings, it seems likely that we'll be seening a series based on this sometime in 2005.

So the entire series is 4 hours long - I knew it was a mini-series but that's a little too short isn't it?
I thought you meant the "pilot" episode was 4 hours long!

That's correct. The new miniseries only covers the Cylon attack on the colonies, the gathering of the fleet, and the escape to uncharted space.
Since the ratings were high, its likely we'll see some form of follow-up----either a series, a series of TV movies, or possibly another mini.

I thought it was good. But it was strange the way they just ended it. Kind of like they just wanted to see what kind of ratings a show like that would get, and if got high ones there would be a follow up. As you said

I saw part of the second one last night. The part where they had to leave and sent out all these Vipers or something. Those fighters were kinda weak don't you think? Then that one chick bumps into, I think his name's Apollo, well she bumps into his Viper and they go into the hangar. Then they leave. It's all I can remember.

Well, they are only Viper Mark IIs----50 years old. The Viper Mark 7s were all destroyed early on due to a vulnerability in their software.
Oh yeah----way to make a complicated CGI shot sound so dull! :thumbs up:

Lol I used to watch the original show when I was "iccle" and I loved those ships. Do they still look the same? They always reminded me of the shuttles from Star Wars lol.
