At this late date I didn't know if I should bother to post spoiler, but hey, CYA, 
Ok, I don't know much about X-Men. Never read the comics, never watched the cartoons, but I do enjoy the movies. I was watching the bonus DVD with X-2, and it kept making references to Jean Grey being "Phoenix". So is she really dead?

That surprised me. I cant believe that they are starting into the Pheonix.
There's bound to be able 10 more movies now cuz of that.
(did you not see the flaming bird under the water in the "Outro" of the movie where Jean is talking?)
Jean isn't dead. She's the Pheonix for sure for sure.
I had a discussion with my math teacher bout it

Yeah I have seen that also that Jean (played bij Famke Janssen a Dutchperson like me  ) changes in a phoenix or something I saw that in the cartoon..I hope they will make a X-men 3 !!!

Its been mentioned in Press conferances there will also be a seperate Wolverine spin off

I did see it, but like I said, I have no knowledge of the X-Men except from the movies, and I'd never heard of Jean being the Phoenix until I watched the extras DVD. I'm not really a comic book fan.

I kow nothing of x-men other than the movies, as well...
she might not be dead?!?! AGHH! WHEE! That's the only part of the movie I didn't like, it was totally stupid! Useless! Senseless! Illogical!
Ooo... I hope there is an x-3 But 2006?! That's over 2 years! WHAH!
