I haven't read the books, but the reviewer might just refer to something the writer did to B'Elanna's character. It doesn't necessarily have to be something literally bad.

I read the first one and I know what happens and I hope you don't mind that I'm spoiling it for you. She goes on a mission to find her mother that barely anyone comes back from alive so she might die in the second one I don't know. And if anyone knows what happens to Seven of nine in the second book I haven't read that one yet.

Yeah, B'ellana's mother was fatally injured so she had B'ellana kill her so she could die with honor, then B'ellana goes back to Tom and Miral... so B'ellana lives

Unfortunately, I haven't read these two books yet ... But it's a good question. By the way - What happened to the other Voyager characters in Homecoming and the other book? Just wondering ...
I mean, I've read a few reviews here and there, but I don't have a clue what exactly happened to any single character of Voyager in this two-parter - Is Neelix mentioned in a sense?

Icheb and Seven and the Doctor get arrested and sent to the brig. Star fleet thinks that the doctor is involved in some kind of holograghic uprising. They also think that 7 anf Icheb are responsable for a recent borg out break when people are being affected with nanoprobes. Neelix getts mensioned once when Captain Janeway says that she wished Neelix was here to help them out.

The Farther Shore is really one of the better Voyager books I've read...
The story gets really good in The Farther Shore... like Homecoming is just a prologue. It's really good, but I don't want to spoil it!

Yeah, I agree about the ends... but not about the books... I just thought The Farther Shore had a lot better action and suspense...

NO!!!!!!!
They're good as books but I don't think they'd survive as movies.
I think movies have to be written with the purpose of being a movie and vice versa for books.
If you've read Lord of the Rings, you'll know how much they had to change it from the book to adapt it into the films. The same goes with the Jurassic Park books. Though they've all been successful, they are nothing akin to the books...
